    Hey Guys,

I have a little bit of paint crazing on the front hood. You'd have it get real close up to see it, but I hate to refinish it because its 30 year old O.E. paint.
I was wondering if anyone has any remedies for correcting/camouflaging it?

    Thanks guys,

    Chris.

There's not much you can do to improve crazed paint. You've ruled out refinishing.
Give it a light compounding, polishing, & wax it to ensure it's sealed against
moisture & protected from UV, then live with it.

The long term fix is going to be strip & respray.

If you try to coat it with anything more than wax, it'll just make it degrade quicker. I've heard of cases where clear coat was sprayed over mild crazing/checking. Within months the checked area had spread enormously & you could just about see bare metal in the cracks.

Ditto, there is nothing you can do about it other than a repaint.

If it's minor just leave it alone. A 'survivor' is worth more than a restoration in most cases.

Thank you guys for your input!

I'll take your advice and leave it alone. The crazing is very, very small, you almost have to get close to it in order to see it. I like that fact that Darolls mentioned that origional is better than the restoration. I'll keep that in mind!

    Thanks again guys.

    Chris.
