Hi Guys! Can you give me your honest opinion on this one. Ebay Item #250459461341 in Rochester Hills, Mi. Was sold on Ebay a couple of days ago and went for a little over 17K. Relisted the seller claims due to deadbeat bidder. Anyone know this car? Any suggestions/opinions? What about as a dailey driver? Thanks in advance, you guys are always great!

$17k is cheap, maybe it failed a PPI or needed something major?

It's a tough market, a windshield will be some number of thousands installed, and it has 100,000 miles. The miles alone will severely limit the number of people interested in it, even though it looks form the photos to be an unmolested car. Seems like a great possibility if you want to get into a 308 cheap, if it doesn't have too many needs.
    Cheers,

I actually think that if you are looking for a cheap 'driver' for under $20k you would be much better off with a car like this one than one that was been sitting around for 5 years that has 45k miles on the clock.

Just a heads up to anyone considering this 308 from this seller. Do your homework and have someone go look at the car before you hand over any money. I have learned where there's smoke, there's fire and the recent re-listing gets my spidey senses tingling.

Well, let's see. From looking at the pictures for five minutes, I see that the car has different tires on at least two corners (the rear tires are different if you look at the tread pattern from the photos of the rear of the car).

There are a couple of blurry photos of plates which can't be read at all.

Lots of rust is READILY visible in the engine compartment which makes me wonder how much can't be seen.

Carpet is torn on the driver's side floor area.

That is all I can see in the pictures without really looking at them for very long.
The miles wouldn't worry me when they get that high the car won't sell for very much anyway,

I wouldn't buy it, but hey it isn't my money. Just my .02 and you were asking...

This may sound snobby but I get nervous when someone advertising an Ferrari cannot spell correctly or fractures the rules of grammar. Requires careful examination.

The car has Pirelli P6s on the left side and Michelin MXV4s on the right side. That's a bit funky but not the end of the world.

The mileage is killing the value........and agree, no way front glass $$ is that low.

    Expect $2K and fitment problems..LOL!

Some have gone thru 3 or 4 panes, to get one to match the car!

But it is what it is a well used survivor.

A 1979 will require catalysts to stay legal and lose a few HP to an earlier specification engine.

I have also requested from this seller if I can come and visit the car. He has not responded to my request. Be very wary of any car the owner won't let you look at, first.
