Ladies and Gentlemen.. I present to you my 928. 5 speed, new clutch in 2008 with maybe 1000 miles since installed. Non-sunroof, non-rubstrip. I've owned this car for almost 18 years. The odometer says 85xxx miles but its probably closer to 110 or so. As 928's go she's in fair condition. She's not a show car, but not a in-the-back-yard-covered-with-a-tarp 928 either. I've tried to drive her every couple of weeks or so. Original rims replaced by Cup-2's. Reason I'm putting her up for sale is I just don't have the time anymore. She deserves to be driven and maintained.. and I just don't have the time... or the lift to do it right. She needs as all cis 928's do a fuel system tuneup. She runs, but not as well as you'd expect. She also has the prerequisite 928 oil leaks that will need a gasket or two. I thought I'd try FChat to gauge any interest, as I'd rather sell her to a true enthusiast. If there isn't any (I know the 928 market) then I'll probably hold on to her or try another venue. Asking $4k ish. PM me if interested.. Oh SNAP!! I wish I had room for a project, I have always lusted after a 928, and this would easily fit the bill. Dang. GLWS. D
This is a great route into 928 ownership at a great price. The lack of sunroof and rub strips is super appealing in the 928 world - this car should get gobbled up quickly, especially if you advert it on Rennlist as well. For traditionalists looking for a 928, stock wheels for a '79 can be purchased ludicrously cheap, though the cup2s look pretty awesome! If someone out there is worried about the odometer - the trip odometer in 928s can cause the main odometer to "lock up" until it is repaird, and so many 928s have a few more actual miles than odomenter miles, but no one seems to care. Condition matters more, and this one looks great. These are insanely capabe grand touring cars.
WOW! Hope you get everything you're asking & more. Last 928 I sold was a 1983 Euro 928S. Great car, always started, and ran like a beast at the top of the band. Probably wasn't in any better condition than yours shows, and I managed $4.5k for it on a quick sale 7 or so years ago. Don't tell me 928s haven't been climbing a bit since then?
