Some of you prolly remember my story of the tree branch falling on my 308. Finally, after 17 months and a complete bare metal respray along with new doors skins the car is finally done. There were no surprises during the stripping process, no damage other than the normal rust along the bottom of the doors - the new skins took care of that and I rust proofed the new ones. Additionally, I replaced the headlights with the projector version, not really a big deal since I don't drive the car in the dark.

    Here are some pics.

Color is Rosso Rubino metallic - Tree branch damage was around $6,000. However, I decided to go ahead and redo the entire car.

I remember the original post. You had that wonderful sounding Larini too. I've only seen that color once in person and photos don't do it justice.

    Looks great..congrats.

Thanks Climb - and you're right about the color, every time I take it pic - it looks like a different color. Much more impressive in person. And yes, the Larini still sings.

Thanks - the painter tried to convince me to paint it Red. I told him - no way! - Even after 29 years, Ferrari still knows what the original color was and there was no-way I was gonna change it.

Plenty of red 308's out there. Your red is unique and beautiful. Very rich color. Car looks great.

Guys - thanks again for all the compliments. It was a long road to finally get the car finished. Have put over 300 miles on the car since getting it back together two weeks ago. Going to have the major performed this winter, replace all the fuel lines, detail the suspension, etc.

Miketuason - yes, projector style headlights - with halos :). I usually drive with just the parking lights on (don't drive the car in the dark) and had unplugged the headlight motors. I think the projector headlights just look neat. Looks to be the same set of lights as yours, however, I removed the blue bulb.
