As a new Ferrari owner I am already in need of some advice. I have had the car for a few weeks and did not notice any noise noise during turns. I just had my mechanic look over the car and replace the Michelins with Sumitomos. On the way home from the garage I noticed a very loud clicking when making right turns. I do not notice it when the car is straight or turning left. Could this be a tire balance issue? It sounds like it is coming from the front. If it is the bearings what would cause the rapid increase in noticeable noise.

Any ideas what I should look for that would cause this? Any help/guidance will be greatly appreciated.

OK so you did not have the noise before you had the new tires mounted. So I would assume that something was done when he put the wheel back on the car. Maybe something is hitting the suspension. So I would go back to the shop that did the job and tell them it did not make noise when I bought the car to you and after you changed the tires it now makes noise. Start there.

Same thing happened to me - turned out to be wheel weights hitting the brake calipers on the right rear only - You could see where the lead weight was reshaped by the beating it took. Rebalanced the wheel and was fine (ribbon weights mounted on the inside of the rim)

Thanks for the validation that it may be the weights. I am going to take off the wheels this weekend and look for any signs of impact.

If you suspect wheel bearings, jack up the car, grab the wheel at 9 and 3 o'clock and check for play. Do the same at 12 and 6.

Just to close this thread out it turned out to be the wheel weights. 14 inch rims do not allow for a whole lot of room. Switched to weights on the rim edge and problem was resolved. Thanks for all of the replies.

Ouch. I hope it really is wheel weights. I've never even seen the front CV joints be available or any cross reference to the same front CV joints from another manufacturer that would fit a 308, so you know they will be very expensive.
Perhaps this is another opportunity for Verell.

I hope not either but, I had experience before when ever I turned it makes that click click, clonk clonk noise, replace the CV joint and problem solve.
