Just change my fuel pump, accumulator and 2 filters today, since I was loosing power followed by a loud bang from the exhaust, sign that I had barely no fuel getting to the engine.

The car ran fine for a while, it idled perfectly for 30 minutes or so, than I drove it for about 20 minutes, and all of a sudden, no power and again the loud bang from the exhaust.

Back to the garage, were we found out that the new pump, although clicking, was not pumping.

We put the old one in with exactly the same results.

We've elected to let the car sit for the night, have it cool down completely, to restart it tomorrow morning.

Is there something, somewhere within the injection system, that control the pump, or the pressure if a certain temperature is reach ?

    Thanks for your help

Sounds like something is killing the pumps. Since the only things that go to it is gas and electricity I would suspect the electricity. Maybe check the voltage level going to the pump. Too high may burn it out (hence taking 30 min to do so on the new one) or too low click with no pumping action. Then I guess you would have to go back to the source. The dreaded alternator/regulator thing. Thats where I would start anyway. If that doesn't pan out that leaves the gas. Has it been siting with good old ethanol levels turning it to water?
Then you would need to drain every drop, change the filters again etc. Good luck. I am not a mechanic but have been around these cars awhile. Wouldn't surprise me if it had nothing to do with either.

    Thanks Crowndog.

We've check the voltage to the pump at 10ish or so, even bypass the electrical connection by plugging the pump directly to a external battery.

The gas is new, Canadian 92 grade, premium gas.

Also, the car is starting regardless of temperature, cold, warm are hot.

Cold start-up is at the regular 2500 rpm, then settle to the std 1000 rpm.

It just would hold fuel pressure.

So did the pump stay on at 10volts? Did you check to see if the pressure changed when you went to 12volts direct? Did the engine die after cold start? I really couldn't tell from the post what happened. Sorry.
