    Good day All,

I sort of remember a thread a while back that discussed whether the Ferrari Pinin Concept car was powered or not and someone (Newman?) stated that it was and had a Boxer Engine... Well... I found some proof that this is/was the case:

1980 Ferrari Pinin Pinin One Off for sale | Hemmings Motor News

Car is offered at $1.2M USD

Notice the Carbed Boxer Engine :)

    Cheers,

    Sam

Gerald had written an article about this years ago when the car was purchased and it seemed the intent was to make it semi streetable.

the big issue Gerald cited was the windows inability to open or close.

It was never finished until it was sold to a collector. No fuel tank or provisions and they had to figure out where to add a filler neck. Not sure what else but the windows don't open by the looks of it and its all lexan I believe so it would suck to drive. Cool car though.

Boxer 12 engine seems like an odd choice for a front-engined car.

Yes but I think the front is too low to fit a V12 unless we fast forward to the 599 era where they stuffed it under the dash and behind the front wheels.

Self cooling rims. Porsche did a similar thing on the 917/30 rims on the front to extract warm air from the brake rotors.

I vaguely remember reading that the "run" was a video artifact.

Did they paint it gold, or was that an artifact of the later photos?

Pretty car, too bad that the windows could never have rolled down...

I also suspect it just MIGHT have been a little nose-heavy...

i saw the car last may at Modena. It was offered for € 750.000,--.
the car runs but some of the electronic gimmicks in the cockpit and in the console in the back are fakes.
