I tried to up load photos but could figure it out. I'm new to posting
Cats don't have the fitting for the check valve pipe. I ordered new ones that are supposed to be Cal legal. Couldn't take the car to the smog shop it appears the fuel accumulator is bad and it needs to be replaced
Just an update had to replace fuel filters, accumulator valve & fuel pump. Car running again continuing with smog stuff this weekend. Having a custom pipe from the cats to the 3rd check valve being made on friday. Installing new cats today Cal legal cats & smog shop next weekend after I connect everything
Final update: First I would like to thank David and Steve for their technical advise. After installing all the emissions equipment (air pump, diverter valve, the 3 check valves, solenoid valve & a custom made pipe for the two cats to the 3rd check valve) The car required some minor air/fuel mixture adjusting which was done on a Dyno and O2 machine and passed smog test after the adjustments. Again thank you very much !!!!
Emissions maybe, but not visual. California very strict At least the car is in compliance and won't have to worry about it anymore.
Very happy for you. Those that don't live in Califonia aren't aware of the visual requirement. I had a guy reject my 78 Trans Am for failing visual. He spent a good 30 minutes tracing all of the hoses and connections from the diagram and found one loose tube under the Rochester carb and failed me even though the car passed the emissions portion.
can you share some pictures? i have an 81 gtsi, the pump is still there but not attached to anything, need to know where the hose from the pump attaches to, thanx
