Have an annoying squeek when changing gear. Have sprayed with grease but made no difference. Is WD40 an option?

    Thanks

WD-40 is always an option. Careful where you spray it clutches don't like it. And buy 2 cans WD-40 wont last long.

Squeek from inside the gear shift gate. Only present when changing gear.
Didn't want to just spray the wd40 before getting some advice.

Could be many things including something fell in the shift gate hole. Take off the shift gate plate and look inside. A vacuum may help then lube the shaft where it goes through the housing.
