    Hey guys,
What does the market look like for a 1981 308GTSi Rosso Corsa/Black, 30k miles, HAS NOT BEEN MOVED OR STARTED IN 7 YEARS! THe body needs a good detail as does the inside. It ran when the guy pulled it into the garage. He hasn't started it since... Thoughts on this....?
    Thanks

Was it in a barn or an attached (to house) garage?

Offer him 20 if it starts and runs. If he wants more, just say no and buy a nicer one and save money.

You can get upside down in a big bad way in a 308 even if you are being careful, not to mention that the 80-82's are alread to lowest on the pecking order (but still my personal favorites)

Starts and runs after new oil and fuel flush of course. And hope the belts are good.

I purchased a 1981 308 that had sat for about 10 years Body and paint were in great shape with no rust and a repaint about 15 years ago. I paid 17,500. I put about 8500 at the engine shop making sure everything was OK and belts etc.
Recently I rebuilt the entire suspension I think I have about 5500 in that doing some myself.

About 1,000 doing some paint work mostly dents.

About 500 for a new headliner.

Only thing left I am doing is new wheels and tires just because I want them they aren't needed. I may try to upgrade the air conditioner. And I may replace the leather on the console and headrests.

All in all not bad for me as this was my first Ferrari I purchased back from the guy I sold it to in 1985. I did some work that was not required I basically did it because I like working on cars.

    Good Luck
