    How wrong can you go? I bet Brett's already on the next flight out :D

    For future record, this is what the ad states:

    "1981 Ferrari 400i GT V-12 Daytona Engine 5-speed. 53,000km Very nice original condition. This is the only 400i 5-speed imported by Ferrari North America during it's 6-year production run. It is in Italian trim and does not have extended bumpers, side marker lights, etc."

    No affiliation with this car. Just seems like a decent deal for someone...

    I have no connection to the owner or the car but have seen it at the annual Italian car show in North Vancouver, Canada. Looked decent "in person". I just saw it today on the Vancouver Craigslist before signing in to F-Chat. Anyone interested in the car might check with forum members in the regional sections "Canada - British Columbia" or from "Pacific Northwest". For sure, someone will know the car.

    I note that the car has "BC Collector" plates, which are issued by the provincial auto registrar / insurer. http://www.icbc.com/registration-licensing/specialty-vehicles/collector-vehicles# It's quite a stringent approval process which requires:

    "Your vehicle must be

    in exceedingly good condition (for example, no dents, scratches, rust, chips in the paint, visible primer, tears in the interior);
    in a condition that conforms to the original manufacturer's specifications (no non-approved parts and accessories added); and
    maintained in the same condition when originally approved for collector plates."

    I like the color and color combination. If I were in the market for a 400iGT, I would definitely make a day trip to the Island to check it out.

    I like this car. It looks clean. I wouldn't mind that car for myself, if I can't fulfill my actual TR search.

    Geez , I was looking at that last spring when it was around $35k.
    Sure wish I could afford it, but bought a Mondial this summer.
    I have grown to really like these cars.

    Nice car with original toolbag in trunk. At that price I'd even take the light metallic blue.

    The original toolkit for that car fits in the spare tire- It is a circle that folds in the middle and contains tools and a neat Italian First Aid kit. Usually costs around a grand to find one on ebay.

    This car has just the jack kit.

    When it was first listed I tried contacting the seller and a local shop that was said to have worked on it with no luck. 'Daytona' engine is one of the more common claims found in the ads for these cars.
