This Ferrari breaks the mold of the popular red over tan or red over black color scheme. If you're looking for a unique & original example of the highly popular & reliable GTSi, this 308 deserves your attention. The AutoCheck vehicle report in June of this year shows a clean title history with 2 previous owners. The folks at Maranello Motoworks in Denver, CO went completely through this auto after it had been stored for over 12 years. Complete cooling system renewal with a freshly rebuilt radiator with all new hoses, clamps, & cooling fan switch. Complete fuel system renewal with all new filters, hoses, & clamps. Complete reseal of transmission/engine oil pans including selector shaft seals. Complete major service including water pump, distributor caps/rotors, & sparkplug wires. Complete brake system service with all 4 calipers removed & rebuilt including new seals. Also, a new clutch kit was installed while at Maranello Motorworks (all above work was performed with 32,083 miles). Service receipts totaling $21,482.09 and dating back almost 20 years will be included with purchase. This Ferrari is fitted with a set of 16" QV wheels & tires with approximately 3,000 miles (original 390mm metric wheels/tires are included). The front fender badges are magnetic for ease of removal, keep the original '81 look, & not damage the fresh paint. The original paint started showing its 35 year age, so I had the aluminum hood & steel panels completely stripped of all paint & primer down to the metal. The naked body revealed absolutely NO body work or bondo anywhere on its shell (pictures available upon request). The headlights, tail lights, marker lights, badges, emblems, louvers, doors, hood, engine deck lid, & both bumpers were all removed for painting. I did have the louvers painted trim black instead of being color keyed to the vehicle as original...most like the trim black better. The result speaks for itself. The spare wheel/tire are the 390mm original and was told they have never been mounted on the car. At some point in the past 35 years the tool kit & jack kit was taken out of the vehicle. The owners manual pack is pictured and even includes the manual for the CR-2001 Blaupunkt radio/cassette. There are 3 sets of keys included...even a key for the locking pouch behind the passenger seat which is fully functional. The rear deck lid supports still have the "Ferrari" text on them & the front hood support has the yellow "Up Arrow" After driving & owning a 1979 Porsche 930, this vehicle (to me) offers a more gratifying driving experience & certainly commands a lot more attention! I've personally put almost 1,000 miles on the clock and every time I ease in the driver's seat, it makes me smile. Thank you for considering this Ferrari...selling to fund my doctoral studies. $64,900 o.b.o. TJ, I agree...it's an exclusive privilege to own a Ferrari, and this color combo brings even more value to the ownership experience. Greg
I rarely comment on Ferraris for sale, BUT that is the best looking 308 I have seen. This is coming from someone who had a 1982 red/tan from 85-90. I loved that car but yours is gorgeous.
This is so sweet, and close to home for a drive this fall to my garage. The color combination is what grabs me. A non Euro, non QV 308 is one thing, but this color combo certainly elevates its stature. I may have to sell my BMW M4 GTS and if I get the right price, I will PM you. Assuming it is still available.
Leeber, My wife's parents live in "Chucktown" so I'd be happy to deliver it to SC for you. We normally attend the oyster roast for the Hunley, but missed it this past weekend. Touch base with me at your financial convenience Greg
Lovely car! Greg, is yours grigio ferro? If so what paint did you use and do you have the colour mix formula? Mine is going to be painted soon due to cracked lacquer paint. thanks, derek
Derek, From what I've heard from other Ferrarists, original Grigio back in the early 80's was prone to developing those hairlike flaws over the years. Glasurit FER-700 is what I used. Greg
I've been working my rear off for like 15 years now thinking, I'm almost there....... Now this dream car has appreciated so much I'm still almost there..... Will I always be almost there.....??? If they keep going up I may never get there. The prices of these is just going and going..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
