    All,
    I have a 1982 308 GTSi.
    The current antenna is a manual (non-power) unit.
    I want to get a replacement power unit and install it.

    Can someone recommend a a power antenna that will most closely resemble the factory unit?

    Can someone verify my thoughts below regarding the wiring?

    Here's what I've found in the trunk antenna area:
    Antenna Lead Wire - Antenna
    Bare Stranded Wire - Ground
    Brown Wire - Constant 12V
    Grey Wire - 12V only when the radio is on.

    When wiring an automatic power antenna unit it would wire as noted above to a new antenna. I get that.

    If I was able to find a semi-automatic antenna how would I wire it to work with the switch on the console?

    Thanks in advance.

    The constant 12v operates the antenna motor. The switched 12v is simply a signal voltage to tell the antenna to rise. The switched 12v can come directly from switched system power, or through the antenna switch in the console, or the switched power from the radio or through both the switched power of the radio and the antenna switch. I have it wired the last way so that the antenna only goes up when the radio is on and the antenna switch is on. With that configuration I can turn the radio on for Bluetooth or USB and not have the antenna up. Likewise, my antenna always goes down when I shut the car off.

    Does anyone have a picture of what the factory antenna looks like when installed?
    The outside part.
    Thanks.

    I don't think these cars ever came with wiring to the trunk for a fully automatic antenna, only semi automatic via the console switch. So, chances are your car was modified by a PO and the original antenna control switch has been bypassed. If your going to use the wires you have and plan to reinstate the control switch, bear in mind a semi automatic antenna works by reversing polarity across the ground and positive wire. So your bare stranded ground wire would end up as a positive in one direction that the antenna travels. In this case use the brown and Grey wire as positive & ground.

    @Freddie328 - I agree 100%. I'm probably going to leave it as-is, fully automatic.
    @VetroGTB - Perfect, Thanks

    Ok, I could use a little advice troubleshooting.
    I bought a fully automatic power antenna and hooked it up as follows:
    Antenna Lead Wire - Antenna
    Bare Stranded Wire - Ground
    Brown Wire - Constant 12V
    Grey Wire - 12V only when the radio is on.
    When turn on the radio the antenna goes up.
    The problem is when I turn off the radio the antenna does not go down.
    I can get the antenna to go down if I attach the grey wire to the constant hot.
    The switch on the console appears to have been deleted from the circuit as it does nothing.
    Thoughts?
    Could the antenna be defective?
    As always thanks in advance!!
