I'm going to see this car tomorrow morning. It looks exactly like the night rider car from what I've been told. Its been sitting for 15 years in a heated garage. I haven't dealt with one of these before so any help is much appreciated.

depends on the shape, and service history, and options; but a shot in the dark from me says 8-12k. Miles aren't so low to command a huge number, and w/out knowing more about the car, or options, its hard to say. Others probably can nail down a more solid value.

Well my gut tells me to consign it just because its really hard to find comps. But on the other hand, its not like we're talking about a $150,000 bet here and I'm sure there's someone for it.

Low miles but not what low and not exactly the most desirable model every. I'd say $10k would be a fair price.

That model change did not win a lot of fans, notwithstanding the television show tie in.

$10k is a lot for that car. I would consign it and avoid the risk.

OOOps just reread yourpost a Knight Rider. ok a little different the dash if functional is worth something. So 8-10 thousand might be more in the ball park.

Base engine in an '82 Firebird was a 90 hp 4-cylinder. Not worth any amount of money, except maybe as a candidate for an engine swap or track car.

If it is a mint and loaded Trans Am it might be worth almost $10k. Almost.

A 1982 Trans Am never had 210HP from the factory.

I believe the fuel injected models had 165HP while the carburetor cars had 145HP.

Late in the 1983 model year, the 190HP HO carburetor engine was offered. 1985 launched the 205HP TPI engine if I remember correctly.

A mint low mile Recaro edition will easily break 10K.

Just a regular Firebird not much even if it is mint, maybe 3-4k in pristine cond. The only valuable thirdgen cars are really rare optioned cars, special packages etc.. and most want the later 88-92 cars. There are so many different types of "rare" ones though so even those aren't bringing much money. Aside from a later Firehawk which they only made a handful of, max for any of these I would put maybe 30k, and that would have to be something super rare with no miles still.

There is no "Bandit" car in the thirdgens. The only rare options I can think for 82' might have been a recaro edition, 2 seat convertible (aftermarket converstion ASCD etc..), WS6, and the Camaro had a pace car that year.

    $3000-$4000 really?

I can't think of too many cars IN THE WORLD if they were mint and had 19000 original miles wouldn't be worth $3000.

A Pinto, Gremlin, big green 78 Chrysler 4 door sedan, etc. Mint is mint....what does one buy nowadays for $3000-$4000. A 15 yr old car with 180000 miles?

A 82 Camaro/Firebird (even if it was a plain jane car) I would think would easily be worth $3000-$4000 and a more than likely a pretty hot seller to boot. That would be a great first car for a young driver. Affordable, easy to fix, sporty.

    I think that a 82 T/A with 19000 miles would bring 10K no problem. I would rather have a 82 than a 92. A 4th gen car to me is just a old car...an 82 is way neater.

So I dropped the rear end and pulled the fuel tank, because I wasn't getting any pressure to the main sending line. As soon as I pulled out the unit, I saw the problem....the rubber hose from the line to the pump was just a big ball of goo. So I replaced the pump and all the gaskets and re-installed everything. I changed the oil, and added trans fluid as it was clean. And after fogging the engine and letting it sit....I turned the key and it started immediately! Ill be getting it buffed out this week and Ill put more pictures up! Drives like new. The funniest thing was that I had Pandora on when I was about to start it and as soon as it fired...."eye of the tiger" came on lol. It was meant to be!
