Car still has the original R12 system. Evacuated the system and pressure held for several hours. Added oil and attempted Recharging, could only get 40-50Lbs . Compressor needs to kick on to get pressure up to where it should be 100-150lbs. Can not get compressor to come on . Bypassed the limit switch still compressor will not come on check power , no power to compressor, checked fuses, all good. Any suggestions on how to remedy the power to compressor and then to get it to fully recharge. I have this 308 GTS QV and a 98 F355GTS F1,both recent purchases but have owned other Ferrari's in the past.

    Thanks

You need to check the operation of the temperature control for the AC in the car, this controls the cut in/ cut out of the compressor magnetic clutch if it is the same as the mondial. I take it you bypassed the pressure switch on top of the filter drier in the liquid line. To get it going you could jump a 12 v wire onto the clutch to prove the compressor but be carefull as that bypasses the temp control etc
Unless you have lost oil you should not have to add any, care u dont put too much in

    Mike,
Thanks for your reply. We jumped compressor from battery and it came on and allowed us to fully charge with R12. Further checks revealed Relay not coming on but heard a click., Pulled relay and cleaned corrosion and all is good.
