Hi everyone I just posted an ad for my 1983 400i series 2 5 speed on FerrariAds. PM me if you would like more information.
wow, i can honestly say i'm bummed out by this news...you always struck me as a real 'dyed in the wool' 400 guy. i hope it is not an unfortunate personal situation that has 'forced' the sale...because the price is too low,IMO. good luck and all the best, brett
John Sorry to hear you are selling your car. It looks really nice in the photos and you should have no problem finding a buyer. Will you maintain your database of 400s? Aidan
Hi Guys Yes, I am sad to be selling her, I really expected that I would own this car forever. However things are slow and I need some liquidity for my business. I just hope that someone will take good care of her and always get that thrill when that V12 fires up into life, even years after the purchase!
so sorry you have to part with her, but i understand. she looks great, and i am sure a worthy owner will come thru for you. judge4re should buy this one .....
http://ferrarichat.com/forum/vbclassified.php?do=ad&id=238 Here's a link to the FerrariAd listing. Good luck with the sale. Ask the new owner for a first right of refusal should it ever sell again. At least that way you'll get a shot at having her back. DM
John, As noted, Dave's comment is a good one. If, however, your buyer is savvy and is willing to negotiate a repurchase right with you, it may be easier for him/her to agree to a right of first negotiation versus a right of first refusal. The latter reguires that the seller negotiate a deal with a third party and, prior to signing that deal, offering that deal to you to see if you can match or beat it. This makes it difficult for the seller and the new third party buyer to come to terms because you have the right to step in at the last minute and walk away with the deal. With a right of first negotiation, if the seller wishes to sell, the seller must come to you first to see if you can come to terms and, if you can't, the seller is then free to sell to a third party on terms no less favorable to the seller than what you offered. Food for thought...if your buyer is savvy and unwilling to agree to a right of first refusal, you should pursue the right of first negotiation route. Best, Gregg
I'm just beside myself. There are two silver on black 5-speed series IIs for sale ......and I just can't pull the trigger............I should just leave this forum forever....ugh.
Word is starting to make it around, but on FChat, yes. Hopefully, boy or girl, there will be a passion for V12 Ferraris...
Hey Erik, congratulations! It will be a life changing experience, all for the better! You know, though, that one way to lock in the cost of a car and protect yourself from rampant inflation in prices of, oh, say, a 400i on the 16th birthday is to buy it now and enjoy it until then. I hear that Silver looks really wonderful sitting next to Sir Ivor Red! ;-) John
I hear you on that one, however I did pay attention in finance class, a $1 today is worth more than $1 tomorrow. I'm in the cash hoarding mode right now. Good luck with the sale.
Hi Everyone I just posted 66 photos of my 400i 5 speed on Flickr. I sent emails to everyone who expressed interest in the car but if I missed anyone, please send me a pm with your email address and I will send you the access information. Spring is sprung here in the East! I drove nearly 200 miles this weekend and it was beautiful! John
John, Any chance you could post the link to your page, I couldn't bring it up on search. Thanks, Bruce
I'm happy that she's back to normal. I have decided that we're not getting any more Ferraris until the second garage is built. Then I should have room for 3 more...
For those that are following my car, I just posted 20 photos of the underside of the car, road grime and all, on my Flickr photostream. If you look closely in some of the photos, you can see a yellow Dino on the next lift in one photo and an Aston Martin Vantage (?) in another. Ferrari-wise, Vantage Motors currently has a 400i automatic in for service as well as a 330 GTC, a 328GTS, a Mondial and the 246 Dino. There now are 86 photos of the car to look at. If you did not receive an email about this and would like to take a look, send me a pm. Thanks, John
