This car is certified by Ferrari to be a factory Ermenegildo Zegna Edition. For those that do not know, Zegna is a world renowned designer most notable for designer clothing. Zegna partnered up with Ferrari to build some special 512 BBI's with his interiors. This car is one of those special cars.Early exotic supercar with modern conveniences. The BB 512i represents a milestone. BB models were Ferrari's first production cars to be powered by a rear mounted 12 cylinder and the last to be bodied by the legendary Sergio Scaglietti. The model represents the final iteration of the Berlinetta Boxer series and is acknowledged to be the most tractable. With low mileage recorded, the advantages of late production and unique color and trim, this Ferrari will find favor with discriminating collectors and those who will enjoy piloting an important Ferrari supercar on a regular basis

This car has been fully restored in its correct Factory White over Cream Zegna interior. With only approximately 19,210 Actual miles and meticulously maintained, this Ferrari is an excellent representation of what a 512 BBI should be.

The 1981-1984 Boxers were the only years for the 512 BBI to have fuel injection. Powered by the extremely potent 4,942 CC 335 HP Flat Mounted V-12 cylinder engine, Bosch k-jetronic fuel injection, and coupled with 5 Speed transmission, these cars were one of the earliest Super Cars of the world. The car has independent suspension with coil springs. The car also has 4 wheel vented disc brakes. The last generation of the 512's are very special cars indeed, as they were among the first production mid-engine 12 cylinder Ferrari's. (Prior to these cars, this was only allowed in the track versions). The 512 BBI's are also the end of a great legacy for Ferrari. These are among the last Ferrari's to ever be completed hand built. Yes, these are the last hand built Ferrari's.

The Restoration of this exquisite 512 was completed with new show quality paint. The original Cromodora wheels have been completed restored like new with correct marking. The center cap hubs have been show chrome plated. The car is sitting on like new Michelin correct metric tires. All the glass is correct and flawless. The original Zegna interior was restored to exact original specs. The Zegna wool was imported from Switzerland and the cream leather was imported from Italia. The dash and gauges are in remarkable condition. This beautiful designer interior is accented with deep red carpets. The original Ferrari (Pioneer stereo and power equalizer still plays well. All gauges and lights are functioning as intended. The factory Air conditioning still blows cold. All power windows function well. Headlights go up and down with ease. Even the clock is still ticking. There are many 512's out there, but very few are as well sorted as this Boxer.

Mechanically, the Ferrari starts up with the touch of the key cold. The car idles well and the mighty v12 pulls strong. The clutch disengages smoothly and the transmission shifts into all gears well. This car is so well sorted, we could not find one thing wrong at this point in time. This is an excellent representation of a iconic Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer.

Documentation of this special boxer includes the original owners manual, Original radio manual, Dealer Service booklet, Ferrari documentation folder, Tools, and letter from Ferrari certifying this car to be a factory white with Cream Zegna interior.

There are only a few documented Zegna Editiion 512 BBI's and this is the only factory white/cream Zegna edition available today.

With this being the last body by legendary Sergio Scaglietti Ferrari, First production rear mount 12 Cylinder, a rare Zegna Edition, and the last Ferrari's to be hand built, we strongly urge that this is the one to buy and hold. When factory all of this in, this particular example is still very undervalued.

This 1983 Ferrari 512 BBi is one of 1,007 fuel-injected examples produced during a four-year production run. The car is powered by a 4.9-liter F110A flat-12 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle and is finished in Bianco over beige leather and red wool upholstery. Features include a limited-slip differential, fog lights, center-lock 17″ five-spoke wheels, a Pioneer cassette radio and graphic equalizer, and a gated shifter. The current owner acquired the car in 2022, and work in 2023 involved a refresh of the ignition system, and replacement of the wheels, suspension bushings, and clutch assembly. This 512 BBi is now offered in California on dealer consignment with service records, a clean Carfax report, and a Montana title.

The Berlinetta Boxer model was styled by Pininfarina’s Leonardo Fioravanti and was introduced at the 1971 Turin Auto Show. The car features a steel-paneled cabin section paired with a tubular chassis. Aluminum is incorporated for the front and rear clamshells and door panels, while the lower panels are fiberglass. The 512 BBi variant was introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1981. The cars were not officially offered in the US and were imported and federalized in-period via the gray market.

This example is finished in Bianco and features pop-up headlights, fog lights, a front spoiler, NACA side ducts, and quad exhaust outlets. A cosmetic refurbishment was reportedly performed in the mid-2010s.

The replacement 17″ five-spoke wheels were mounted in 2023 along with Nitto Nt555 G2 tires that measure 245/45 up front 285/40 out back. The 512 BBi features a fully independent suspension with unequal-length double wishbones, coilovers up front, a double coilover setup out back, and anti-roll bars fore and aft. Stopping power is provided by ventilated discs at all four corners. Bushings for the suspension and sway bars were replaced in January 2023.

The Zegna-styled cabin features seats upholstered in beige leather with contrasting red wool inserts along with matching door panels and red carpets. Amenities include a gated dogleg shifter, power windows, and a Pioneer cassette stereo with a remote graphic equalizer.

The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Veglia instrumentation including a 200-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline as well as auxiliary gauges that extend to the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 34k miles, few of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 4.9-liter F110A flat-12 features Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection utilizing twin CIS fuel distributors and was factory rated at 340 horsepower. A timing belt service was performed in December 2023. The distributor was rebuilt and the left engine mount frame repaired at that time, and additional work included replacing the water pump seals, right front engine mount, clutch assembly, rear main seal, left bank fuel pump, and fuel accumulators. The spark plugs and ignition control box were replaced along with the clutch slave cylinder in December 2023.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration in Minnesota, North Carolina, Arizona, Nevada, and Montana with an initial entry in October 1993. There is a gap in entries between 2006 and 2018. The car has not completed a California emissions test.

When you read through the repairs that have been made to this car by very reputable shops and the fact that the car is still not where it needs to be, they should have done the complete rebuild.
