Came across this just a bit ago and I figured I'de share. 1983 308 gts Ferrari Quatrovalvole
The jackwad has damage caused by the lift arms and happily admits the cause. If he did that, god only knows what he did if he actually had to do service on the car, with that kind carelessness.
I really couldn't care less about the seller's personality. It's the car's personality that attracts me
+3. And those wheels have to be switched back to originals immediately. Also air pump has been removed. I think quite common on '83's but nice to have for originality.
He is down to 50k... I wonder why the tail lights are reversed? I have read that it was done on some euro's to compensate for the lack of side markers, but this is USA spec. I am curious as to the general condition for comparison purposes, but he has made it pretty clear not to bother him!
Going to see the car this weekend, I'll report back on what I see, and whether it comes home with me.
I don't know if you have ever sold anything on CL, but for some reason there is an unusually high percentage of tire kickers, non serious buyers and other stuff that goes on there that one really needs to try and head off from the beginning.
That was my take on the seller, as well. I'm sure he's gotten quite a few calls from brokers (wanting to list the car), as well as a lot of people who have no serious interest in purchasing it but wish to come "hang out with a Ferrari owner for awhile and discuss automotive topics". And no doubt, lots of people hoping he'll fall for some sort of payment scam. I've listed a few furniture items and antiques on Craigslist in the past, and it was bizarre how many people would come to my home, ask questions that were clearly answered in the ad, offer me 20% of my asking price... you name it. Or they'll call and make an appt, and never show up. Or, show up - then claim they need to "get their wife's opinion", and you never hear from them again. You get all sorts of weirdos... I think this seller has just reached the limit of his patience with it. I do find those rims to be extremely unappealing, though.
No interior pictures? hm... For the right price it would make a nice daily driver if it has the miles that he claims.
