My car has Dunlop SP Sport 8000 tires. P205/55 ZR 16, Frt, P225/50 ZR 16, RR. The tires are mounted on Etoile rims. What pressure(s) should I use?

And yes, I know they were made some time ago. Let's don't sidetrack this thread with the dangers of old tires. The tires came with the car, mounted, in boxes, with the stickers still on them. They had been stored this way for some years.

I don't subscribe to the concerns about old unused tires. So, please, just provide advice about the pressure. Thank you.

    Hey Fred,

Since you're using later model wheels and tires on your 83, my guess for an overall pleasant ride would be 35-36 lbs. front and 37-38 lbs. for the rears. If I planned on racing, I would ask the advice of many on this forum who have way more track time than myself.

    Cheers,

    Hank

Hhhhmmmm....I wouldn't go putting too much pressure in old tires like that, you might just blow them up! Old tires like that can be dangerous on the road!

    (just kidding you.....)

I go with 32-34 psi both front and rear and have very even tire wear.
