Interpret as you choose Eric. If you google the VIN, you'll see that the car has been advertised in multiple places over the last couple of years. In each venue, it has been marketed as nicer than what it actually is. I've seen the car in person. As I was driving and looking at the car, I was doing the mental calculations of what it would take to bring it up to par with other Mondials on the market. If the seller would have been selling it for $10K, I would have passed. By the time you factor in the motor work (all of the easy fixes have been tried on the overheating issue), paint, interior, suspension, etc that it would need, the cost would far exceed the dollars needed to buy a turn-key (well, as close to turn-key as they get...), very nice example.

There is no malicious intent with my post. I just didn't want to see a remote buyer purchase something that I feel has been misrepresented to date.

    Good luck!

One day, perhaps, I shall master the art of written, non-verbal comms to adequately represent humor, cynicism, sarcasm, and all those other subtleties. Apparently that day hasn't come...

No offense or snarkiness was intended, 2cam. My apologies.

Twas good advice and I have yet to purchase a vehicle sight unseen. I actually am looking for a project, not a beauty, and am not looking with an eye towards restoring it to all of its factory glory. More of a test mule to be honest. This one, at the price, and having the problems as described was a potential. I now understand that the overheating issues have been adequately addressed by the seller making things less desirable from my narrow perspective. I'm sure its a good thing from his.

Anybody know of a good basket case 308 or Mondial??
