Hey folks, I normally don't try to solicit business on Fchat, but I wanted you all to know about a this car, as I personally feel it is a great deal, and it would be in my garage already if 1) I had the room, and 2) I didnt work for Lamborghini. Anyway, it is by no means a concours winner, but could be detailed up very nice. It shows 22k miles, and I will be doing a carfax report soon, but it looks to be real miles. I doubt the belt service has been done. It looks to have been in storage for a year or so, but it drives very nice. I dont think it will last long. Like I said, I think it would be a pretty good buy for a QV. I can get pictures very soon as well. Thanks! Michael Wogronic Lamborghini Chicago - Fox Valley Motorcars 630.231.3400 630.430.7400
hello, looking at nadaguides.com current low retail for a 83' 308 gts is $26,775.00 i've visited lamborghini chicago (aka fox valley motors) previously and the cars in invertory seem very nice. this car is priced 33 % below low retail. there are no cheap ferraris. the market determines the price. if the car is below market price, there is usually a reason. i recently looked at a ferrari 348 in northern illinois that had the major service done @ lake forest sportscars. the receipt was included @ a mind numbing $13,400.00 current porsche owner looking to get into a ferrari. but if it sounds too good... joe
Michael. Is that the Red/Tan 308 that I saw when my Son and I stopped by a couple weeks ago,and saw you? It was out in the side lot.
Michael was kind enough to drop by my house and let me look at the vehicle. Like Michael says, it is not concours but it is very presentable. Given the lack of records, it would probably need a full service very soon. However, I have seen non-QV 308's in worse shape advertised for significantly more than Fox Valley is asking for this one. Someone who can do some of the labor is going to get a steal with this Ferrari.
Hi Frank, We just got this one in on trade, but it could have been here earlier this month for an oil change or something when you stopped by. I drove it home last night and it really does drive out nice.
Erik, No, thank YOU. I'm glad it is going to an F-chatter and a good home. I know you will be plesantly surprised when you see and drive it. Talk to you soon! Mike
congrats on the purchase of your 308. i questioned the $18,900 price of this ferrari yesterday, wondering about needed maintenance. i just got my forza issue #62 and they have a story on buying a 308. the buyer bought a 1977 ferrari 308 gtb that was on consignment @ ferrari of new england. it was placed there after the owner "brought it in for a slipping clutch and came out with a $16,000 bill" i love ferraris i was planning to go to fox valley this weekend to look @ the 308. i even "cleaned up" my 95' porsche last night for the drive in. the car appears to have been sold. i'll say it again, i've never owned a ferrari (thou i've driven em') there are no cheap ferraris. i hope the new owner enjoys years of trouble free driving in this 308. but it sounded too good to me. joe
Joe: I hear you on this. Been in the hobby for 8 years now and have a guy that looks after all of my cars (if I keep accumulating them, he might work for me full time). I know what I am getting myself into and this was still a good deal. You'll find a car, don't worry. Cheers, Erik
