I've decided to actively pursue the sale of my '84 QV previously listed here in this thread - http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferraris/405754-1984-308-gts-rosso-corsa-over-tan.html. I'm starting a new thread as I've updated the description and info on the car below. You can also see this info and photos at Info. The photos are snapshots from about a year old, I am hoping to have some time to take new ones in the next week or so. I welcome all questions, comments, etc. Here's the info: 1984 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole Rosso corsa over tan SN 50431 Approx. 56,300 miles (I driver the car regularly) Purchased through Bobileff Motors in San Diego, serviced by them and by Ferrari of San Diego prior to my purchase. Additional work done since then in Santa Barbara and Santa Monica Overall, I’d describe it as a decent driver; some who have seen it said they thought it was a very good driver – depends on expectations. I love the car and find it a blast to drive – it’s at it’s very best when fully warmed up and zipping along back roads. I’ve taken it on several 200+ mile trips as well as shorter drives and it’s never overheated or given me any trouble on the road. I have shown the car at Concorso Ferrari in Pasadena, CA twice and once at Concorso Italiano in Monterey. FEATURES: Interior leather redone in mid 2000’s and in good shape. The drivers seat bolster shows some wear. Drivers side window has the relay upgrade to provide increased power for the window to go up and down smoothly. The passenger side is much slower, I do not know if they relay modification was done on it. I have extra replays for the modification and will include them with the car. Exterior is good condition – I believe a good quality repaint was done some time ago. Original style floor mats as well as Keith Collins custom mats 30,000 service plus new clutch was done in April, 2007 at Ferrari of San Diego at 39,000 miles Timing belt done December ‘11 at 44,500 miles Clock works and the crystal is clear Instrument lights are bright enough to see clearly at night Light under handbrake works Original magnesium 16” wheels including spare AC blows cold Original jack set including the emergency light that plugs into the dash Reproduction tool kit Correct for ‘84 owners pouch with manual, dealer network brochure, etc. purchased separately from the car so it’s correct for ‘84 but the warranty card is for another serial number. Work over last two years: -Birdman fuseblocks (originals were saved and come with the car) -new water pump -new plugs and extenders -new fuel accumulator -new fuel filter -new thermotime switch -new warmup regulator -Right rear caliper 42,500; left rear caliper 45,500 -New trunk seals and trunk cover -New catalytic converter – easily passed CA smog FLAWS: When cold, 2nd needs about five minutes driving to slide in, runs fine after that. This is typical of most 308s One of the hvac control bezels needs replacement There is a small tear in the fabric behind the passenger door The exterior look good but it does have the small rock chips and touch-ups typical of a driver. The pan below the front bumper is dented inward due to a water run-off dip that was deeper than I expected. The front bumper has some light damage near the right turn signal lamp. There are a couple of very minor dings. The windows are slow to go up and down, especially when cold – this is typical of most 308s I have had an occasional warm start problem where the car is hard to start or starts weakly when warm after a brief stop. I had a starter relay installed which seems to help. It has never left me stranded, and has always started when this happened after a few minutes wait. There is an oil leak that I haven’t addressed yet. EXTRAS: Additional Items that come with the car: - Plate clip. This is a clip on front license plate holder that is easily removable with no modification to the car. -1984 US version Spare Parts Manual – this is a full-size copy of the original. - Copy of the wiring diagrams manual - screenprint stencil for logo on air filter box. I bought this a while ago but haven’t had a chance to do it yet. - Wire photo from 1984 for a newspaper review of the 308 - August, 1983 Car and Driver review of the 308 QV - July, 1984 issue of Motor Trend with a comparison including the 308 - 1993 Ferrari Market Letter Volume 18, No. 22 with a classified ad for the car - Misc pdf files of the owners manual, wiring diagrams, workshop manual, etc. I’ve tried to include all the relevant details good or bad about the car above. Any errors or omissions are completely unintentional and I welcome any and all questions. Many times, buyers want to know why a seller is selling – in my case, it’s simply the desire for new automotive experiences. I have neither the space nor cash for additional cars, so it’s time to move on and see what’s next. My wife also has chronic migraines and the 308 is too loud for her so I’m leaning toward replacing it with a Maserati GranSport which is quieter and also has a rear seat for my daughter. If anyone has one they’d like to sell or trade for this, let me know! $34,500
