While at Aston Martin of New England having annual service done, I had them clean-up, repair, and repaint the original exhaust.

The mufflers themselves were too far gone (as you can see from the pics), so they sourced some new original ANSA mufflers.

Given how visible these are, makes the car look alot better!

Here are a few pics showing before and after:

Wow you bought new ANSA stuff? $$$$$$
What made you go this route instead if Nouvolari or Superformance?

Yeah, the mufflers (only new parts- rest were restored) were pretty pricey. But the car is completely original with only 19,xxx miles and I really wanted to keep it stock for showing it in concourse in the future. Thinking of bringing it up to the FCA annual meet at Watkins Glen and having it judged.

To clarify, only the rear mufflers (with chrome tail pipes) were replaced. Not the big center sections.

That looks awesome! I went the full stainless route from Quicksilver out of England and it looks just ok - too shiny from the side-view.

Did both Series I and II have the red lined exhaust?

Given the soot that these engines belch, I don't think it would stay red for long.

Daren- i'm sure your right and the red will be gone in the not too distant future! That being said, the fuel injection system was all just gone through and rebalanced and tuned as part of this service work, so hopefully things are running as they should and it wont be running too rich and get too dark too quickly!

    Ruben- thanks! Appreciate it!

Thanks, Sam. Appreciate it! After one day of driving, it looks more like a dark orange. I'll post a pic tomorrow. I suspect all color will be gone very quickly.

    Beautiful job..
I need a whole buffer set-up and I don't care about being a concourse winner.
    Where should I go?
Nouvolari or Superformance where mentioned? Should I get a quote from these people?
    Thanks..

Time valve might be another option as well.

Indeed, Time Valve looks to make a nice exhaust for our cars. The last I checked a full Time Valve exhaust (from the exhaust manifolds back) was about $4K USD, but that was from a few years ago.

    Cheers,

    Sam
