1984 Anson SA4 FSV/FA - $27,500.00 Designed by Gary Anderson as a Formula 3 and Formula Super Vee Car. Car currently runs SSCA and Vintage events as a FSV or FA. This was one of two Anson team cars in 1984 and was driven by Tommy Bryne. This is a ground effects car with tunnels and wings and features many of the design features of the 1980 Formula One cars. The car was totally rebuilt in 2007 and 2009 utilizing a new Anson aluminum and carbon fiber monocoque. Monocoque - Aluminum honeycomb and carbon fiber Engine - New in 2008 - 1600 Water-cooled 8v non-crossflow stroked to 1800cc. Lucas mechanical injection, Carillo rods, steel crank Suspension - Rebuilt 2007 - 2008 - Pull rod front, Lever rear, Koni adjustable dampeners, cockpit adjustable brakes and bars. I remember back then if you were not in an Anson you were fighting for second place, these were THE car to have back then. Looks very nice, I hope it goes to a good home.
the ralt rt4/5 was a decent package too but I did like the anson too! someone should buy this and see what it's like to drive a real race car and cross into the world of aero grip
Brian, Your first and third questions are difficult ones to answer. Is it hard to drive? - I find it easy to drive but someone else may be scared in it. The biggest thing is you have to trust the downforce from the ground effects and balance the car with the wings. Would it make a good track day car? - It is a blast to drive, any day on the track is a good day. You just need to make sure the organizers allow open wheel cars. How fast does it go? - Plenty, Again this is very subjective and the driver has a lot of input regarding this. It is a very competitive car. As a FA car it is competitive up to the Toyota powered cars. Racing in vintage events it is competitive with F1 cars depending on who is driving the F1 cars. On you tube search Anson SA4. Thank you for the comments. Tommy Byrne set the car on pole at the Long Beach Grand Prix support race by over a second. The history of this car is known from the day it was built. I am sure whoever purchases the car will enjoy its uniqueness as much as I have. Tim
The Ralt RT5 FSV is a good car and a lot of them were built. The Anson is unique and there is only two cars currently running in the US. The big tunnels do generate a lot of downforce which makes the car easy on tires. Tim
