As far as I can tell its an 81 carb car but says BBi on the back.

 

I count 17 cavallinos on that car.

I got some parts for wheel flares but they would be of no use to you. I'm building a tribute to a '78 BB IMSA entry of Thompson / Pozzi.

 

Open Roads, great to hear from you. I don't have a BB, but it's on my list.

A bit too much for my taste Paul.

 

Weak effort. Between the pop up headlights, front bonnet and roof, he's missed at least 4 or 5 opportunities to place large Cavallinos. Hopefully, he made up for it on the airbox cleaners, etc...

 

You could not talk Walter Medlin out of his???????

 

I could fix that car, with a grinder and a case of Saint Arnolds.....

 

Looks like mostly Koenig bits and some Zender bits.

These types rear-ends are all inspired by the 70-ies LM and IMSA entries, and I must admit that these are still my fav Boxers to look at.

Willy Koenig's personal track BB looked much like it too, save that it had also the large intake-ducts on the buttresses (to keep the turbo-monster cool)

All Helmut Becker's (Auto Becker) BB's had the small flares with wide rims and the then highly fashionable P7 rubber. They went very well that way, but aesthetically I'm biased towards the LM-look (pre moby-dick BB's)

That said, I'd never do this to a pristine BB. So please, nobody point me to a vastly neglected car....

 

This is a pretty special day, merging one of Gus's old threads with pictures of the "Giallo Guido".

 

Do you think it's a FERRARI? Not sure what it is, without any logos.

 

I have a BB rear clamshell hanging on the wall of my garage, and you people are giving me funny ideas. Please stop it!

 

Armen, more importantly, is that you in the yellow shirt and which one of these did you drive to homecoming junior year??

Here is some "customtrics" on my BB.
13"x15" Ferrari formula one weels from 1972.
345x35x15 Pirelli tyres.
Its very easy to make it like original again. I like it,

Are the rear flares rivited on or put on with double sided tape?

 

They are fitted with som Phillips.
