Now available is my 1985 308 GTB QV Euro in Rosso Corsa over Crema, #53349. She is a fantastic driving machine with just over 63,000 miles on the clock. I purchased her in 2009 with a fresh full major service having just been completed in July at 54,600 miles. Over my years of ownership, I have tended to her needs to include: rear caliper restoration by PMB, 2014; a headlight upgrade to a set of Marchal Apliliuxs (the e-codes had been lost to time or federalization and I didn’t much care for sealed beams), 2009; A/C refurbishment (to include cleaning and inspection or radiator, condenser and evaporator, replacement of blower motor with a genuine Bosch replacement, all new lines and a new genuine Sanden 7H13 compressor to replace the original 507. It is hard to tell from original and works well, at a club cruise this summer it kept the cabin tolerable in 95+ SOCAL sun), 2015; Fresh timing belts and Hill tensioners in fall of 2015 at 61,000 miles.

I do not have any records earlier than the previous owners purchase in 2008. I have the jack and tool kits, though they are missing a few components. I do not have the books. She has, at some point been repainted and there is evidence of a rust repair behind the driver’s front wheel. The paint presents well, but it is at best an above average respray. The interior is showing its age as well with some wear on what may have been a re-dye of the seats and some dash shrinkage around the vents. I will conservatively call her a condition 4 car. That said, she is a mechanically excellent machine I would not hesitate to drive anywhere. I have had her on 700 mile road trips without incident. Most recently my wife and I drove her from San Diego past Malibu for the FCA Christmas party, over 350 miles round trip. The exhilarating sound of that little flat crank V8 singing her highway song melts the miles away.

I am by no means in a “need to sell” situation, but as my family grows, a two seater becomes less practical and I don’t like having to choose between my wife and my daughter for a weekend cruise. I will begin to consider offers north of 70k.

She will be sold as-is where-is in San Diego, CA. I would be happy to discuss her history and invite your inspection by appointment and will make her available for PPI as required.
Please note: As a very lightly “federalized” Euro model, she is not likely to pass CA smog. I have a clean and clear Ohio title and maintain Ohio registration as I am active duty and Ohio is my state of legal residence.

I love the red carpets in the Euro cars but you're right, hard/impossible for us to have here in San Diego.

Love that interior! Should sell very quick. I sold my Euro GTS in just a few days. Euro cars are preferred everywhere in the world... Except in California haha.

My initial reaction was for a euro GTB, I think your $70K starting point might be a tad low. Not sure how lack of records and books should affect the prices. Books are relatively easy to price out, but records...not sure.

Yeah Throw it in a good auction. You have plenty to choose from in Cali.

I also always thought you had to smog to get a base sticker and I don't see one in the window. I never registered mine on base either as I didn't drive it much and Id just get a temp pass.

That is a clean looking car. Being that yours is a Berlinetta/Euro I'd think the 70k would be low.

    Beautiful either way...

Thank you all for the kind words. She is a rare bird indeed, and difficult to price as such. As I mentioned, I do not need to unload her, but the right price gets the wheels turning.

    Johnny,
Never registered on base, she has been there less than a dozen times and a Ferrari coming through the gate usually throws up enough red mist no one remembers to check for decals.

GLWS. I'll be interested in where it goes as I have an 85 GTB QV USA model with 31k on the clock, original owner. I would let it go for under $125k.

Wow I had no idea your car existed, my twin! :D Beautiful car, love the crema interior. Mine is tan but otherwise almost an exact copy of yours.

FWIW I think your starting price is definitely low - don't let the CA market aberration convince you it's worth less. A GTB of any flavor commands a premium these days, and a final-year euro spec is top of the heap...I might be slightly biased. But I don't think I'm wrong.

While I'm always hesitant to throw out numbers, the starting $ I had in my head for this car was at least $85K, maybe even $90. Just a thought...

Great car and very rare, 1 of approximately 250 Euro 308 GTB QV produced worldwide, you seldom see one for sale, good luck.

US model (as mine was) can be sold in California. Euro model can't without extensive federalizing. I can't help but think that affects pricing somewhat, although with higher prices in Europe that would be where I would look to sell a Euro car.
