I have just purchased a 1985 308 euro version. The back zippered portion (behind the engine)it is missing the plastic grommets on each side where to back hood posts secure the trunk to the body in the closed postion. Are there any reproduction parts out there. These appear to fit into the vinyl cover that covers the area where the tool kit is stored in the small trunk area. Presently there are just slits in the vinyl that the posts go through. There is supposed to be a grommet that finishes it off. Thanks for any input.

Can you post some pictures? I have no idea what you're talking about.

Sorry, I don't have a picture. It is where the rear post on each side of the engine hood contact the body (just above the taillights) to secure the hood is closed. In order for that to happen it must traverse through the vinyl zippered compartment. All that is left on the vinyl are the cross slits that allowed the fitting of a circular plastic rim to leave a hole in the vinyl so the hood could close. That is the best that I can describe it. Thanks for your effort in responding.

The vinyl should be folded in a square around the u-bolts where the rear deck latches grasp the u-bolts. Two screws through the vinyl behind each u-bolt.

No grommets that I've ever seen.

Factory trunk vinyl covers have a thin fiberboard half circle with a rectangularish hole, under the "star" shaped slits. The vinyl zippered cover is stretched, glued and stapled thru this to make a clean hole, and the two screws secure the whole deal @ the trunk latch on each side.
