  1. A friend of mine owned a Black and Snowcorn 5000S. He sold it and the last I heard was that it ended up with a collector in PA. Do any of you know whom owns it? I have a couple of questions about the car based upon my memories of it back in 1997. Simple things like if Joe's carb fix ended up being a long term solution or if it has deteriorated over the years. I am thinking I have a similar issue with my carbs in another car and wonder if his fix is still going strong. I am also curious if the Nakamichi car amp is still installed. :)

If any of you know someone that have a 1985 Black and Snowcorn (white) 5000S that has previously lived in NM and PA (or still is in PA), could you ask them if they would be willing to answer a couple of questions for me?

I do not recommend that fix. It is good to have a bleed in that check valve so you are not constantly squirting in extra fuel at every minor throttle movement.

To get rid of the flat spot it is better to make sure the ignition system is in good order. Then look at your timing, retarded timing can cause a flat spot. Next make sure your idle jets are tuned for the car. Often these are lean and that causes a flat spot. Next look to see if the float level can be raised. After that tune the emulsion tubes, they usually need to start earlier to fill in a weak spot between the idle circuit and the main circuit.

    Cheers Jim
