Can someone show me a picture of what a 1985 testarossa should look like. Mine is coming apart and all bunched up I would like to see a pristine one https://www.screencast.com/t/NYWD2g5uKlOx Thanks
see http://redbaycars.com/onewebmedia/Testarossa/deel1/IMG_0454.jpg for an example also http://redbaycars.com/onewebmedia/Testarossa/deel1/IMG_0458.jpg
I should be more specific. I want to see how the leather should cover the steering column. Thanks again
On mine its a leather wrapped fiberglass cover thats held on with screws. Either the earlier TR's didnt have this or yours was lost and the PO tried his best. My steering column cover looks like this one (scrol through the pics till you see it.: http://www.europeanexoticcenter.com/plugin-detail.aspx?iid=16096880
Yours is very different from mine. I would like to see a picture of the steering column with one without the knee bolsters/ I see on mine , I dont have the knee bolsters. Did all USA cars come with that? I am told I have a very early 1985 car.
IIRC, the US cars had knee bolsters from 87? and on. I dont think early cars had them. Some other countries mandated them as well.
Yes, bolsters (& the "hard" steering column cover) came in 1987 when the passive restraint system was implemented. Here is a later car with the bolster and the hard cover for the column. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Steve, can't find a reference photo of the "soft" cover like yours, I'm curious how it attaches too. Hopefully someone will chime in with an early car photo.
