    Like the title says, what is the proper routing of the O2 sensor wiring? Mine seems long and hangs down on the exhaust. It has not burned or melted yet but I am sure it is just a matter of time. The wire seems longer than necessary which I have read is typical of some replacements. Should I just simply pull it tighter, bundle and tie wrap the wire just below the airbox so that it is closer to the rear engine compartment heat shield and further away from the exhaust or is there a different route it should take? See picture below.

    I just replaced the O2 sensor on my 88 and noticed the same thing. I ended up pulling the slack to the top and zip tying to another wire close to the air box.
