I also found a place near me who will re Cadmium plate all of the components. I will see if I can clean up the parts this weekend and get a quote for pricing.

Also I got my shocks apart, so I will be sending the shocks out for a rebuilt while I clean up all of the hardware myself.

I'm using a media that says that it's safe on threads. I had considered that and chose this "safe" resin media vs aluminum oxide

It's a very slow process, so I'm not too worried about destroying stuff. These are class 10 bolts.

Good question. I found a set of pins that may work. I'll test them tomorrow and report back.

Sadly the pins I found are too short. The springs that came with it are also too big. So sadly I have to keep looking.

I spent the day working on the control arm bushings. I was able to press one out using a large socket and a long bolt. But I still have the metal outer shell to get out. I also took a sawsall to the bushing out pieces so that they are easier to press out. I never would have thought that I'd take a sawsall to a Ferrari. But everything went fine. Just very slow work.

It's tough to get started on fixing all of the issues. I didn't want to start something and not have time to finish it. Once I saw how bad the calipers were, I knew that I had to take it all apart and fix it.

Well I hit a roadblock. I was packaging my shocks to mail out and noticed that the bushings that I had purchased were too large for the rear shocks. So I will be sending off all of the shocks bit only the front bushings.

Turns out my shocks use a bushing with a 30mm outside diameter compared to the 40mm bushings that fit a different shock. The price difference between the 30 and 40 mm bushings is about $100 each and I need 4. So I will be tracking down a bushing that could fit, just using my old ones, or make my own polyurethane bushings and cast it in place.

Let me know if anyone has any advice on where to find bushings that fit.

After a bit of research, I think that I could make some polyurethane bushings pretty easily. We will see what bushings can be found but if all else fails I will make my own. I'll check to see what mixes I have at home.

You always have to be willing to try new things and be willing to make a mess.

I am taking today off of work for a doctor's appointment, so that means work on the car. I took the reciprocating saw to the bushing of the A arm that was stuck in the car. It cut through it pretty quickly. The bolt had fused itself to the inner metal tube. No amount of penetrating oils would loosen it. So out came the saw. I also took an inventory of the bolts, I'm going to clean them up today and look at getting new bolts where needed.

Very cool project. You live in car heaven with so many excellent specialists, not necessarily F-car specific, to get stuff done as needed. John in CT.

I seem to be lucky finding a shop that can rebuild the master cylinder and being close enough to the shocked builder. It only cost $25 to ship the 6 shocks to the place. But that was also with the discount from work. But at least I'm not spending a ton on shipping. The master cylinder will take 2-3 more weeks, shocks will be three weeks. I will try getting the bushings out this weekend and powder coat this coming week or the following.

Finally!!! I have made some progress. The shocks are still being worked on. But I just received back my rebuilt master cylinder and 4 new rubber brake lines. The brake lines aren't 100% replicas of the old lines, but they look good, are new and will work well. Total cost for powder coating, sleeving, resealing, making new lines, tax and shipping was $500. I'm hoping everything works perfectly with it. I'm pretty happy with how it looks compared to the old rusty one I removed.

For $500 that included the lines and it looks like they put new reservoir seals as well. I hope they are the right size. I wanted to keep the stock look of the rubber.
