    JUST BOUGHT A1988 328 HORN WAS NOT WORKING..FOUND THE HORN WAS UNPLUGGED AT THE COMPRESSOR PLUGGED IT IN AND IT WORKED WITH THE BUTTON PROPERLY... WENT TO MOVE THE CAR WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL THE HORN BLOWS NOW THE HORN BUTTON DOESNT WORK BUT HORN BLOWS WHEN MOVING THE STEERING WHEEL!!!! EASY FIX??? SUGGESTIONS.. THANK YOU GIANNI

    I guess we know now why the horn was unplugged. Pull the cap off the wheel and inspect the wire in the hub. It is touching metal somewhere. It may need to have the hub removed to get to the issue. It has a ring nut, (read as special socket) that has to be removed and you may need a puller to get the hub to come off.

    Pulled the wheel off. Wire has broken off from the ring. Have to take it somewhere to get that nut off and reattach thank u for the feed back is the wire going to the button hot. Or ground?

    I believe the when the button makes contact it is to ground, Well that is the way it works on most cars.

    Just checked the '88-'89 328 wiring diagram.

    The horn switch grounds the violet-with-black-stripe (ZN) wire, to activate the coil of relay "h".
    The wire is "hot" through the relay coil. Grounding it to chassis operates the horn.
    When the relay is activated by the horn button, the relay contacts provide power to the horn compressor.
    Both the relay coil and power to the compressor are driven from fuse 8.
