I unfortunately don’t have space for it anymore. It’s a beautiful red/tan 1988.5 with ABS. 13,781 miles All service history comes with car, all service done at Ferrari dealers and includes copy of original window sticker and 3 original keys. Last major engine out service 5/2022, currently getting annual service and catalytic converter replaced. Marc: That’s a beautiful car! One quick question: are you sure the car has ABS? It doesn’t say so on the window sticker. Good luck! Alan N.J.
Thanks! And my understanding is than when the convex wheels are present, that they had ABS, but you make a good point with the window sticker
Marc: There’s a foolproof way to know if your car has ABS: open the front hood and see where your brake fluid reservoir is. If it’s smack in the middle of the car then, yes, you have ABS (I doubt it). If the brake fluid reservoir is closer to the passenger side of the car then no ABS. Alan N.J.
Hey its the sister to my old 328! Most 88.5 cars do NOT have ABS, just the redesigned suspension to accommodate the anti-dive for ABS. It would be unusual for this car to have ABS as that was almost exclusively a 89. Case in point my old 88.5 with an Aug 1988 build did not have it.
Marc: Two more questions that you should be prepared to answer when asked by a prospective buyer: - why did the car have an “engine out” service? On a 328 there is no need to pull the engine out of the car to do a major service (belts, etc.). - what’s up with the failed catalytic converter at such low mileage? Good luck with the sale! Alan N.J.
But it has theABS wheels on the car and a window sticker from 1988 would have holes on doth sides of the paper along the edges the old style Printer feeding concept at least this is what I got from my dealer for my 88
Enzo Ferrari said it best: “All-a ABS cars-a hava convexa wheela, but-a not all-a convexa wheela hava da ABS”. Alan N.J.
I'll settle the ABS question. No 1988 model year 328s produced for the North American market (that includes the so-called 1988.5 with the convex wheels to accommodate the redesigned suspension geometry) have ABS brakes. It was an option on 1988 RoW cars, but not on cars sold here in the US. It became standard equipment on 1989 US 328's, but remained an option for RoW cars.
