1988 BMW M3 155,xxx I’ve spent the last couple years restoring my ’88 M3. I bought it locally here in CT in the fall of 2021 and brought it in to my friends shop that winter for a touch up on the sunroof. That led to a decision to go all out with a full glass-out restoration of the car… It is a DS car from the factory, and he spent months disassembling, prepping, painting and reassembling over the last 1.5 years. The end product is a very very nice professional paint job. When I bought it, it had some modifications done that I wasn’t much of a fan of, so, the decision to get it back to OEM was made, and that was the focus of the entire build. It retains it’s Supersprint exhaust. Aftermarket head unit. And modified front bumper. Period Sparco strut brace. Well north of $25K has been spent on this E30 over the past year to get it to this point. Some highlights, among a very long list of other new parts: -Completely redone interior with new front/rear leather, new straps on the driver side. -Brand new BMW OEM windshield and gasket. -Brand new BBS 16” OEM wheels with brand new Dunlop tires -New rotors, pads and sensors -All brand new Bilstein suspension front and rear -Refreshed front strut housings up front (bought here on S14)(the current housings are being pulled off, as they were cut and welded for the BC suspension that was on this car prior). -New front/rear wheel bearings -New lollipop bushings -New exhaust hangers -Spark plugs and newer rail -Garagistic knee panel -H&R Springs (Sport) -Bav Motorsports re-done Cluster -New shift knob and surround, e-brake handle leather -New Interstate battery… Some of the above items are being finished as we speak over the next couple of weeks +. During the process, I documented everything down to the door cards and inner fenders coming out with photos along the way. Every VIN matches except for the drivers door (replaced sometime in the past, I do not have documentation of it). Since this was a repaint, I did the proper procedure with BMW of Ridgefield to order the new VIN sticker and door jamb sticker. I have a lot of receipts back into the 1990’s with a well documented binder in sequential order in page protectors. The owners manual, books, tool kit and window sticker. A full pro set of photos will be completed when it’s had its final buff/detail, but as it sits, I’m about 5% away from completing the car. My E30 M3 is $81,000.00 Please keep in mind, it will not be ‘finished’ to my goal of completion for at least another month (as mentioned above) BUT, if you’re looking for a complete DS that has had care, attention, and detail in it’s refurbishment, then please touch base with me, and we can discuss the upcoming completion/timeframe and consideration of new ownership. Bank wire transfer is the only accepted payment method. No crypto, no checks, no credit cards. Just basic items (coolant hoses, PS hoses, seals etc.) Waiting to hear if I need oil pan gaskets done.
These are one of my favorite cars that I've ever gotten behind the wheel of. Friend of mine had an '88, and I got to drive it like an idiot a couple of times. lol His was new at the time, so I certainly can't attest to the difference in age/mileage/or plus whatever Ken has done to it to get it back to his stated OEM status, but when BMW says "The Ultimate Driving Machine", having owned (and driven) other Bimmers before, I'd definitely include this year-model car in that category. GLWS, Ken!
A few odds and ends to complete, but for all intent and purpose, I'm done. Southbury, CT is where I call home. Selling an E30 M3 on BaT is one of my least favorite things in the world...I'd rather eat a bowl of nails.
Forgot to mention too for the CA buyers. Current exhaust has NO CAT setup (Supersprint) But I am including a stock exhaust if desired with CATs Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very nice I had a white one and loved it……. (Back before the prices went nutty) This one belongs on BAT for sure.
One of my bigger car buying mistakes was not buying a silver on black e30 back in 2001 for 17k. Still had the old cell phone in it as well.

Had a silver with Motorsport? cloth interior MANY MANY years ago. I remember initially though it was underpowered but soon realized that the usable power was more than enough to have fun with. In today's modern 900HP cars that are onramp posers but fall short everywhere else these are true drivers cars that are almost perfect. Good luck with sale!!
Pulled out of the woods in CA a few months ago, it had pine needles EVERYWHERE Cleaned up really nice, had a major done. No idea what the plan is though, it's my old boss's car (he bought from the CA guy). Lots of original paperwork with it etc. Pretty cool, faded and cracked paint, patina how I like it, and probably how I SHOULD'VE left the M3...
