    Greetings
Looking to locate a camshaft locking tool for 1989 T cabriolet. Is there a specific one or a universal one would work. Lots on Amazon.
    Thank you in advance

I am not aware of a cam locking tool specifically for the Ferrari engines. Except for 360 engines to replace the variator. It is a complicated affair that attaches to the rear of the cam and head.
If the cam covers are off, a strip of business card under a cam cap and that cap snugged will hold the cam. There are aftermarket tools for cam gear holding but I have never had one or used one.

I have been working on them professionally for 47 years and for changing belts I have never seen the need.

Torquing cam sprocket bolts is another matter but a tool holding the sprockets isn't enough for that.

Like Rifledriver, I don't find the need. But the ones pictured will do the job. If you are at TDC & understand where the pistons are, only 1&4 may have a contact issue with cam movement but the cam will never try and open a valve further when the belt is off. So moving it back to the mark is not an issue.

What about them? First I have to buy or make them. Then I need to install them. Then I need to take them back off.

Dont know about you but I define that as a waste of money and valuable time to do a job that is easier, faster and cheaper without them.

Out of curosity - what do you use to hold the sprockets when you torque them?

Its different for different models. On a QV V8 I put shims under the bearing caps.
