Curious, Does anyone know how much the 348 in blue/grey sold for on EBay today? It was located in Monteray, CA. Last I saw it was high bid at $55k but not sure if there was a reserve that was met or not.

    Thanks,
    Stephen.

I love that color combo on that car.

I'd have bought it if I was looking for a 348.

Prices might be on the rise for both models!! $55k is pretty big money for the 348, and I hope the 348 finally gets it's deserved love and attention from the masses. Must have been a really great car. Lots and lots of money in Monterey!!

For future reference, you can go over to the left side of the ebay screen, scroll down thourgh the filters and you can select "completed listings" and it will bring up recent stuff.

Taking the UK as an example, the prices of 308's/328's and 355's have risen rapidly making the 348 the entry two seater Ferrari.

A lot of people have noted that Ferrari prices are on the climb and have decided to get one whilst they're still currently affordable. The 308's/328's and 355's are too expensive and so they've started to buy 348's. This means that the prices have risen from @ £18K ~ £25K, to £30K ~ £40K (there are the occasional £25K cars coming up in the UK but these are rare and mostly LHD which is not so popular in the UK).

It's not so much that the 348 is suddenly being loved, it's that the 348 is affordable.

    Take My case for example:

I originally wanted a 328 GTS (I have loved the 308 GTS' and 328 GTS' since I first ever saw them), but the prices went from @ £30K to £60K+ almost overnight and before I could afford one. :(

I've wanted to own a Ferrari for the last 36 years and it was a case of now or never and so I turned to the 348 TS, a car that I have always liked and never understood why it has been looked down on so much.

Now I own a 348, I do love it and love driving it every chance I get and I think it's reputation as a poor Ferrari is totally undeserved. I have no regrets about buying it (I know I would totally have regretted it if I had never bought it), however, I would have to confess that if someone were to say to Me: "I'll swap you My equal condition 328 GTS for your 348 TS!" then I'd snap their hand off, not because the 328 is worth more but because I just love the design that bit more!

Put it this way, as far as I'm concerned, the 348 is fantastic to drive and is a beautiful car, the 328 as a design though is just achingly beautiful and perfect in every way - And there aren't too many cars you can say that about.

Yes the 348 was a compromise for Me, but as compromises go, it's not a bad one at all!

Have been following that one since it looks like mine. It has low miles and a lot of recent work. Could not find on ebay but it is listed here for $65k by Mohr Imported Cars Inc.

I would love to have either. They have their differences and benefits from one model to another. But one thing is abundantly clear. Either leave their other marque's competition looking very ordinary... Congrats on your 348.

It's so true, the 308, 328 and 355 have sky rocketed literally overnight to unbelievable prices.
Probably the cheapest entry level is the Mondial of which I recently sold to buy my 1993 348ts, closely followed by the 400, 412 and 308gt4 but they are all 4 seaters. Had I not bought my 348 in July this year I could not afford it now. I paid top dollar but is amazing and exactly what I wanted.
Having looked at Autotrader UK there are only 8 for sale and only 2 are right hand drive.
The dealer I bought mine from has already offered to sell it for me at a profit.
I bought it because I love Ferraris and being my 2nd from the stable I am enjoying it and he they rise in value it's a bonus.

    Cheers.

    Phill,
Sit down, shut up, and admit it. You got a better car! ;>) While it may not be quite as beautiful, it is certainly faster and much more interesting looking. Wait a couple of years, and you will be able to trade 'down' to a 328, (if you still want to).

    Top tip Meister.
Did a search on EBay and found the listing that shows the dealer ended the auction. High bid was in fact $55k which is respectable. The dealer was looking for $64.5k, a little optimistic, but a sure fire sign that the market is moving in the right direction for the right 348.

LOL, didn't even notice until you pointed it out (effective advertising is amazing!).

Should be an easy fix, especially when you consider that the chin spoiler needs a repaint anyway (scuffs).

From 89 they were black all round until around 92/93 when they were body colour.
The one in the photo isn't right, it should be black on the front spoiler too.

You will also see that the cavalino badge on the front grill is missing. Again this was standard on the first cars. The one on the back between the rear lights was a grey metallic then subsequently changed to chrome.

It seems to me that all 348 coupes have the lower panels painted and only the targa has the black lower body. Is this correct?

Not quite right. Hers the straight poop.

1989 - 1992 USA and Rest of World Berlinetta (tb) and Strada (ts) models were factory painted with the black lower body. The black paint treatment was applied over the top of the finished cars chosen color at the factory.
Late 1992 and on 348 Series Special (USA market only), 1993-1994 348 Challenge cars, 348 GTB & GTS (Europe and ROW only) and all 1993 - 1995 348 Spiders left the factory with full body colored livery.
