I love it when people sign up just to sell something.

First, I have been a member for a while now - I did NOT sign up just to sell the car. An associate of mine is selling the car and I figured this would be as good a place as any to advertise it. I apologize if I am advertising in the wrong section - please tell me where would be more appropriate.

Secondly, please make a reasonable offer on the car. I am willing to deal somewhat.

    Thanks

not to break your balls, but if you are selling this for an 'associate' i find it odd that you are inviting people to make you an offer because in your words you are willing to deal somewhat. This board is quite open to members with an earnest interest in Ferrari. It is less interested in hockmeisters, and hockmeisters with credibility issues- well, it's not like your trying to sell a used car, right?

    It's worth 15-18k for a quick sale.

I paid 20 for mine 2 years ago.

zr1.net has a good for sale section.

Like I said, mea culpa - I obviously advertised in the wrong place. I didn't think 26k was that high for a ZR1. But again, I am open to all reasonable offers. Car is also for sale locally so I can't make any guarantees on how long it will be available.

How did you buy a $65k car for $38k? Someone lost out on that deal bigtime! Are you sure that you are not talking about a regular Vette with a Z51 suspension option? I find this very hard to believe...

Yes, I think Bruce is confused on that one. Sticker was 58k. The ZR1 option was 28k alone, on top of the base car. I have a window sticker on my 90 that shows an additional dealer M.U. of 30k, for over 90k total.

On the topic of the car for sale......an ultra clean 90 with 26k miles should be around 19-20k. That is the money on the car. Sold one of my 90's last year with 5k miles on it for 25k. Almost 50% of the ZR1's produced were 90's.

    Not worth it!

I could have bought one back in May for about 12k upfront. I have seen Greenwood Corvettes costing only 17k.

I clean $12K ZR1? Wow, unless it was a really bad beater, your the real nut here for passing that one. You should have bought it and could have made several thousand dollars on it selling it to someone else that actualy knows cars or likes Vettes. And what the heck does a greenwood Vette have to with anything?

A ZR1 has an LT5 engine, DOHC, and ran with the best of the street cars durring its time at any price, including Ferrari. It is not like a regular corvette that all (including today) have the basic pushrod motors. It has set 24 hour world speed records as well.

I think people keep mixing them up, the ZR1 looked the same except it was wider in the rear, and the wheels, until you looked under the hood that is.

KING OF THE HILL BABY!!! Greatest Vette produced since the Mid-years. Car ran 180mph ALL day long, and had a bullet proof motor. It took 12 years for another American car to achieve the top speed that the ZR1 achieved in 90. Was fairly quick at 0-60 also, around 4.2-4.3. And you could MOD the car to hell and back, fairly inexpensively.
