    Hey Ferrari friends,
Looks like the drive end bell of my HVAC blower motor has come to pieces and now I need a replacement.
The rest of the motor is in great shape, including the armature end bell.

I will buy an entire unit if need be. I was just hoping Ferrari used a motor assembly that came from some place else so I can just rebuild what I have, with a new drive end bell.

Thankfully I was able to find a complete assembly on eBay for about $400. It arrived today.

Now, for anyone planning on troubleshooting this fan motor, be VERY carful with it. Any amount of pressure on the drive end bell or armature end bell will result in disaster. The aluminum alloy that was used to cast these two pieces is like working with weak pot metal. Seriously, 35 year old plastic would be stronger.

The fan itself can be pulled off to give access to the drive side bushing. Keeping them both smooth and from wearing out. Even a DC motor professional wasn't able to separate the armature end bell from the motor assembly without having it crumble into several pieces.

The plastic fan is just pressed on to the shaft and with a puller type tool, you can slowly get it off the shaft. Remove any corrosion from the metal shaft end that sticks out of the fan before starting this process.

If anyone needs a very lightly used armature, brushes or magnet housing for one of these motors, let me know. These parts are going on my "maybe someone will them" shelf.

Well done! What was it listed under? Maybe folks have been using the wrong searchwords?
