The SL is wired with a front plug for the trickle charger.• New MB sun visor clips were installedPrior service has included a new water pump, distributor cap and rotors, fuel filter, power steering pump, new fuel injectors and a transmission service.This 1991 Mercedes-Benz 500SL is finished in Pearl Blue Metallic (3480) with Leather Beige (275A) interior and is powered by a 5.0 liter M119 V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Includes a removable Pearl Blue Metallic hardtop. The 5.0 liter M119 V8 was factory rated at 322 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. 16 inch wheels are mounted with 225/55 Michelin tires. This blue looks very similar to the 1997 40th Anniversary Edition SL320's that had grey leather interiors. Lovely cars that work great as DD's when you don't want to fire up the Ferrari for just a run to the PO or Bank.
As production car engines go, the Mercedes M119 is one of the best ever made, hugely strong and tuneable, so good that Mercedes used them to win the 24 Hours of LeMans in 1989 and had perfect reliability even using the factory crankshaft.
It does not need it yet but I have a new MB serpentine belt and new Bosch spark plugs that’s included. A few more pictures are attached. No rust and no cracks in any of interior wood.
