The Speedline wheels were optional, and as I understand pretty rare. Per the SPC it looks like early 512TR calipers were "ATE" and if like the TRs that preceded it, they were gold zinc plated. At some point (early in production I believe) the 512TR brakes upgraded to Brembo calipers and I thought they were always black with white (or natural) lettering, never red, though I have seen many painted in red. I'm sure the 512TR owners can clarify. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I never heard of BREMBO's calipers offered as an "option'' by the Factory ... I have the ATE/TEEVES on my 1992 512TR and a friend also on his 1994 512TR ..... they come in black and the name Ferrari is in white.
This phrase always worries me. Unless the celebrity is Michael Schumacher, or somebody of this caliber.
I have no practical knowledge, just going by the 512TR SPC which clearly lists complete calipers by "ATE/TEEVES" and "BREMBO" (seperate part numbers). I didn't say it was an option, looks to me like an upgrade (production change). Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here's the car, bought hurriedly by a wholesaler (after my offer had already been accepted, pending PPI) and now relisted. I feel spared... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TR-/261098254778?forcev4exp=true#ht_33966wt_1167
Hello "A"; I went to the eBay listing & the seller has a "-1" in # of sales??!!....How is that possible??!! I also noticed under the description of the TR, it has the famous, "Unspecified" engine....I wonder if that's an option??!!.....Mark
I read that "-1" too. Apparently their one and only review was from a very dissatisfied customer. Glad I won't be the next one.
i fear that with the depressed economy, several incidents with exotic cars like this getting into the hands of less than reputable sales, will become increasingly more common
