Auction 1993 Ferrari 348 Series Speciale

I would have been interested but I pulled the trigger on a 1989 328 GTS earlier today....Good luck though....looks like a really nice rare example

There was some fabrication work done to the rear of the car. The below is taken right from the listing:

The seller states that a 355-style rear panel was installed during prior ownership, and it was removed in January 2017 and a replacement rear panel, taillights, and grilles were fitted, and patch panels for the taillight mounts were fabricated and installed at that time.

I think that was a big determining factor to why it sold where it did. It looked like the repair was well done but it did hurt the overall worth in my opinion.

348 Serie Speicale's are great cars though and I love them. Documented all original 348 Serie Speciale's are in demand and sell for much more than what this one sold for.

 

Do you know what the deal was with the front grill? Most grills were black but a very few had the silver front grill as delivered from FNA; especially when the exterior paint color was black.

This is the first I have heard of or seen the silver/chrome grill on a 348 Serie Speciale. Thanks for sharing. It is amazing what we can learn here on Fchat!

Do you happen to have the SN# for the black 348 SS you posted photos of?

 

Unfortunately no serial number to share. However Canadian tb deliveries must have been scarce.
Note one of the more unique details is no 'mouse motor' for the seat belt.
