So my car is almost 22 years old and it has been serviced mostly at Ferrari dealers in Southern California (the first major and last 2 majors). I don't know if it went to some independents, it was just new techs or they lost the parts and put different ones on but there were quite a few missing parts or the wrong part in the engine compartment. I am by no means done but today I decided to fix the crown nut situation (6 nuts) for the coolant tank.

When I got my car it had nylon nuts not the crown nuts and when I went to put the correct nuts on, I found that there were spacers missing.

I ordered parts from two vendors of which most probably know them. Completely different experiences. I'll post about that later. I got the last of the parts today so I thought I'd fix the issue.

The first picture is all 6 positions. The four back (towards the tail lights) a different configuration from the front two.

The second picture is of the new parts (back four) as compared to what came out of the car. Cracked rubber, missing parts, and wrong parts.

The third picture is of the new parts (front two) as to what came out. (per the Ferrari drawings, I was missing a big and expensive spacer.)

The fourth picture is of the unneeded parts. It seems there isn't enough room to put another part 113113 under the back four crowns. Also, to my surprise the the big expensive spacers were not needed on the front two because it seems my car is slightly different from the ferrari drawings and has a large cast aluminum bracket holding other parts. Oh well.

Getting close on the engine compartment....

Still need to put the exhaust/heat shield back on, refurb the oil tank, and swap out the blue blow-by hoses for factory ones. I have all the parts to fix, just need the time.

I also added the expensive black rubber piece for the hood that is just north of the red plastic suspension piece in the picture. (it's the black rubber piece near the backmost part of the rear window. Took me a while to track that down. People say they have it, then don't and then it ends up shipped. yeah!

So I have a running spreadsheet of the "minor" parts I buy. This doesn't include the manual set, tool set, car cover, etc. Just parts I buy from Ferrari or other sellers for basic items like, screws, bolts, nuts, washers, clips, hood rods, valve stems, spacers, shim, gaskets, clamps, bulbs, tubes, etc. So far Almost $1k. Again, not including actual electronic or mechanical parts like bypass valve, exhaust, etc. Also, on most of the cheaper parts I buy extras just in the case I need the part later down the road and I don't want to pay $20 in shipping for a 12 cent washer. ;)

Do we know yet if the 355 under tray nuts are available yet? They seem to be not available in the factory correct style.

I think you are talking about the power steering reservoir bracket. Your can has the updated reservoir and also the fuel block recall completed.

A few months back I was working with a fastener expert and sadly, he combed the globe and could not locate those anymore. He did provide me a specification on them but no dice yet..

Dave, yes between the air plenums is the coolant overflow and then the power steering reservoir. The cast aluminum bracket goes on the front two bolts and is the same thickness as the spacers. I looked at this post http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355-sponsored-bradan/292079-how-update-power-steering-tank-355-a.html and it seems he had the cast aluminum bracket with the old reservoir. I wonder why the spacers are even listed in the book. The crappy part of the story is that the spacers (pair) were more expensive than the aluminum bracket. lol.

Yep. With some other vendors in this site it's about 20 percent cheaper

    Alex,
excellent work, and great information. Your engine compartment looks exceptional! One other thing to note, is for some of the hardware used in the engine compartment, the current stuff from FNA no longer exactly matches the stuff used at time of production (I don't see any issues with yours). It is not a concours deduction, since it is a factory supplied replacement part. Ferrari of Seattle explained to me that Ferrari changed suppliers for basic fasteners a few years ago, and some of the nuts and screws are not exact matches in design, plating or finish.
