Built this 1/12 scale model a while ago. Finally got around to get it a proper display case and "name tag". It's not my best work, but then again I have a good excuse: This was a resin kit from Mexico and it lacked many pieces and was a horrible fit at best. So I ended up with a lot of kitbashing. Also bought and cannibalized the Eddie Irvine car from 1996 and used it for parts (wheels for instance). Had to source all the decals. Most of them are right, but the connoisseurs amongst you will notice the differences. Also bought an Alesi helmet a long time ago and made that to fit. Possibly with some anachronisms on the helmet decals, but I'm not sure. At any rate, it was a very long and frustrating project and the final result isn't my best work, but at least it got done and it is a super rare model (not like a Tamiya kit you slap together). And just maybe it might make one particular FChatter on here happy. How about it furoni? PS: Apologies to the mods, I know this belongs into the model section and of course feel free to move it there. It's just so F1 centric, that I wanted to showcase it in this subforum. Thanks all for the likes. This is my 10th 1/12 scale Ferrari F1. Because this was such a difficult project I have taken a long pause from doing another one although in my closet I have probably more than a dozen awaiting construction.
If that isn’t your best then your best must be amazing !!! Great stuff! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks much! It's not that they look that different but I can still see all the things that went wrong with the Alesi car. Here one I really like: One of Arnoux' turbo monsters. And yes, that signature is real, got that from him at Goodwood. Had it for a while on the dashboard in my Ferrari but now it's part of the model display. This model came from the same manufacturer in Mexico but in this case they did a much nicer job. It is fairly accurate and the parts fit nicely together. Didn't have to do too much kit bashing. The rubber tires are from a Revell kit as are the seat belts and most of the decals. Again got lucky finding a 1/12 scale Arnoux helmet. Thanks! Almost good health, tore my Achilles tendon. Just hobbling around now. Oh well, hopefully it heals eventually. Hope you're fine too!
