I was driving my 1996 F355 Spider around the other day and I noticed the accelerator pedal is binding. It does not have a smooth feeling when I shift gears. Are there any specific lubrication points I should address? Could the throttle plate be hanging up?

Start of with your pedal assembly. Strip it down and clean away all the old grease and grime and re grease. Its a very simple job to do and it makes the pedal feel really smooth. If the pedel has never been striped then the grease/grime may be as old as the car, and may be even dry.
I do know of a detailed write up on doing this, but its on another ferrari forum and this forum won't allow me to post the link.
Lets see how this thread develops and it you dont find a how to, let me know and i will PM you how to find the link,.

It could also simply be the cable fraying somewhere along its length. I would get this inspected and fixed before driving any more.

But whats the point of paying money for some one to check things that one can check/clean your self? Its simple enough. Unless one is the type of person who runs to the dealer when its time to have ones tyre pressures checked:)
Clean the pedal and if that does not work check the visible cable (in the engine bay) to the linkage is not damaged. Only then do you take it to the dealer to have the cable changed if you are not able to do it your self. Though changing the cable is quite involving.

I love to get my hands dirty! I restore antique motorcycles, mostly Indians, and mid year Corvettes in my spare time. Ferrari's are a new world to me, a dream come true. I just don't want to make a costly mistake without checking. This site is awesome and I really appreciate all the time you guys took to reply to my question. Jim

I did not mean to be disrespectful and you did give me the answer/solution. You surely deserve all the credit. I was simply showing everyone what was wrong on MY car! I'm new to the site and my not understand the chain of command. I will stay anonymous from now on.

Take it easy there Sambomydog, he was giving us the update, which is MUCH appreciated. Because too many times people come on here asking for help, then NEVER get back to let you know if it did/didn't work. He wasn't nice enough to get back to us.

But thank you too for offering up the solution. There do you feel better. We don't want you missing out on sleep tonight now do we. LOL :D :p
