I have decided to actively sell my car. Pretty sure it will take some time to find the right buyer. No hurry to sell, do not need to, but the "Wilt Chamberlain" in me is starting to have other needs met :)

    Basics

For Sale: 1996 GTS Gated 6 Speed Car Rosso and Tan === $95,000

Bought on this Forum with the help of Mike at Yellow Compass and Graciousness of Flat_Plane_Eddie

    33.5K miles.

Completely Serviced in 2016 as noted on this Forum:

    -Engine Out

    -Valve Guides

-All belt and Related MAJOR SERVICE Items, Exhaust replaced(Headers, High Flow Cats, Capristo) SOUNDS INCREDIBLE! All Fluids Service, Receipts from Fast Cars Redondo Beach 2/16/16

-Fuel Injectors cleaned and Calibrated - RC Engineering 7/20/16

-Custom Left and Right Radiators - 6/11/15

-90% sticky free and corrected save for center climate vent. Interior looks great as far as black trim and buttons go. Have a partial receipt somewhere, but touch and feel does not lie.

-Battery is less than 2 years old.

-Roof Painted to Match sometime in the early 2000's

    -Non-Factory Soft California Car Cover

    Under My care:

-April 2017 Oil Service and Filter

-Solved ABS Issue - Intermittent failure of Pressure Bulb and Senor. Replaced and Documented on

    This Forum 7/2017

-Repaired dirty contacts on back of Oil Pressure Gauge 8/2017

-I have a complete Factory Brembo Brake kit - NLA that will go with car

-Running WBR Turbo Pads - Stops extremely well, low to no noise, low dust

-I have Original radio and removal tools that go with car. I have a radio delete plate and hidden Bluetooth

adapter. With remote charger and Radar Detector Accessory Report. No modification to factory wiring - -Cleaned up and Corrected poor prior attempts. Eddie, did a majority of work,I finished it. Receipts for all.

-Paint and color correction with hard shell protective coating. Looks fantastic - but not museum. I drive mine.

-New Plus 1 Michelin Sports - Oversized and look glorious (1500 miles). Car comes with Set of Factory Spec Pirelli's

-Tool Kit buckle repaired and properly mounted - I have corrected issues under bonnet. A few Clips are not perfect, but 98% back to factory under bonnet

-Repair to Leather Park Brake cover - not perfect, but way better than I got it.

-New Floor Mats - on my 3rd set. Still not happy with what I have. Dave Sold me the proper Grommets and I am waiting to use with the mats that work the best.

    -New Valve Stem Caps

-Carbon Sill Plates - Gorgeous - Have originals

-Trickle Charger - Two types of adapters

    Needs:

Perfection is not something I believe in. A lot of others pursue perfection. I tend to think my philosophy accepts that life is never perfect, objects are not perfect and man certainly is not! I drive, enjoy and care for. But alas, the following is minor known imperfections:

-Slight pull and wrinkle to dash leather in common spots. Does not bother me.

-Rear Parking Brakes are at max Adjustment. Needs new shoes and Rotors which I have, but not going to do until I HAVE TOO and I just park accordingly. The NLA brakes are for future, future must do.

-Passenger side undertray damaged by my lift. I have new ramps now, but about 3" are not perfect - That actually really bothers me - near right rear tire. May try to fix, but secure and very minor, just hate that I did it.

    - Wheels are scratched in a few areas, not terribly but not perfect.

-Right Rear Wheel has inner flat spot. Car Had Speedlines and Eddie sold them and replaced with this set. Notice vibration at 125-130+ I am not driving at that rate on public streets and car is fine, but really needs new right rear wheel and refinish all 4.

-Minor wear to drivers seat bolster - Common

-Rock Chips - 5-6 touched up. Cannot see unless you are 4"s from surface. I own a collision center. No interest in fixing, cause I drive it.

-No record or signs of collision damage. I see some paint work - Lower panels, but the metal surfaces measure in range. Plastic on lower panels probably repainted. Cannot measure.

-Dampness and wet at Gear Box shaft Seal - deal with at next major

-New CV Boots sling a little one side. Clamp not 100% tight - just one of them on passenger side. I have receipt for prior repair, but not worth addressing until next major

I am sure I may think of or see others, but I am pretty observant, critical and knowledgeable. I bought this car, because I did not have to do much if anything to enjoy it. Eddie was mistaken on the ABS issue and was told wrong, but I resolved it and it fixed an annoying problem. He is a fantastic board member and I appreciate him selling me the car. That is the only thing that surprised me. I can get a slow down light if the car sits and sits and then I drive it some. Traced it to discussions here on the forum with a known issue. I have found that a proper warm up and start out and no issue. Seems to happen in colder weather. Nothing is wrong, just the finicky nature of the OBDII system and the way it is designed to run. Dave on here has the complete skinny and I would get with him if I felt it was something serious to deal with. I just drive it and light may come on and then not the next 10 drive cycles. 22 years old.

I have a very desirable, well sorted and incredible nice 355 GTS Gated 6 Speed in the right colors. It is a 22 year old car that enjoys being driven. It is rewarding and satisfying in every sense. I take it to dinner, I go for Sunday Drives. I take it to Cars and Coffee. I drive it to work on Fridays (Maybe less now due to local construction near my office). I sit in it. I rub on it. I like it in my garage or in front of my house. It has low mileage, but not "museum mileage" and not ultra low "Ferrari Mileage," but it is a nice sweet spot for driving and still not a "high miler" at 60K+ miles, LOL.

    $95,000.

I am having a good start to 2018. I may regret selling the car and I have priced it to where it should be and what a nice car is worth to me. Maybe you may feel the same - no stories, no needs really unless you want perfection, then pay more for lower miles. It is not leaving my garage for a PPI. I am not jumping through hoops for a stranger trying to bully me out of MY FERRARI. Here is what I have. It is priced accordingly. I am doing an oil service in April. IT WILL NOT NEED A MAJOR FOR 3 MORE YEARS. Heck if I still have it in 3 years, It may not do it then either. Partial loan at Woodside, but if my 2018 goes well, I will just pay it off. Price may go up, I doubt it goes down. I have 10 vehicles and my taste is changing as my kids are getting older. I do not believe in paying for College - at least not moving my wealth and buying power to others at exorbitant prices. My girls deserve the best, but they have to earn it and make their own way in life like I did, but they have a good life and I will support them in my way and driving a Ferrari 1-2 times a month is something I can do without if I think the school support is reasonable. I just have my own plans for 10-15 and 20 years and college is not one of them. I did my time :) That is why It is on the FChat Classifieds. Someone else may be willing to buy this car and enjoy it more than me. Drive it more. Cheers! -Rob aka Carnutdallas

This is a $10 dollar fix that takes 1 hour. It's no big deal.

Good Luck with the sale, Rob :)

Rob, I was not suggesting you do it, but just stating for a reading party that it's no big deal. What is a big deal is the add you wrote and how you disclosed this - that speaks volumes for integrity. That is the sign of a good seller :)

Can't believe I haven't seen this until now! Someone is going to get a great car. It's been well maintained throughout its life and I think you and I have kept that up. I'm glad you finally fixed the ABS issue; it was pretty intermittent for me (once every few months, sometimes would pop up more in a short time then go away) but regardless, new owner doesn't have to deal with it.

Great car for someone who wants to get in and enjoy one of Ferrari's masterpieces! The exhaust setup it has is the best for a 355 in my opinion. If you go with no cats on the primaries it's probably too loud and it'll smell. The way it is now you still get the loud F1 pitch but only when the valve is open.

Also, in case it matters to anyone this car was owned by an F-chatter before me as well so its history is pretty documented here.

Yeah, I do not think I am selling. I am not trying to be D’bag and run a fake ad. I guess if someone said they would pay my ask, then I would take it. I truly think market may be moving up for nice sorted cars. I have the seal coming for the shifter selector rod. Will be doing my service in mid-April. Going to do brake shoes as well.

I drove 200 miles Saturday. Two passes through my tunnel in 2nd and 3rd. I need to change price and add another $5k. [emoji41]

Question: Does Anyone following this thread know if I can delete it? Or take it off then market?

I do not want to sell it at this time. I could not find a suitable replacement if I did sell. I would only sell for full asking price. And i made it easy for me and Eddie and would want the same.

I really thought I could move on. Maybe buy a 2015 Porsche Targa, but in the end, if this car had a major issue, I would just fix and keep. The cool thing is, it a gas no issues, should have no issues and I can tackle 75% the service myself. Love this car and anyone who owns a nice 355 feels the exact same I bet. And it is a GTS!!

Apologies to all of those I may have misled. I just love the car too much.
