I am reaching the final negotiation with a dealer for this car: F50, 1996 with 280km with all original documents etc. The car is basically brand new. The price is around US$520,000. Please tell me if this is a fair price IYO. I realize the price in the US is higher than the rest of the world so our European and Asian Fchatters, please comment.

I am also looking at a 1997 F50 with 7500km for about 6% cheaper. Which one will you take???

    Thanks

I'd take the one which has been driven and maintained ...
All seals and hoses must be ripe for replacement in the showroom queen.
In which country are you buying ?

    I agree with Ze_shark!!
A car that's been driven regularly is almost always in a better condition then a garage queen!!
Have you got pics of them?
    Good luck with the buy!!

Thks for the reply. I live in HK and the car is located in Japan. I heard Garage Queen needs a lot of repair and replacement such as all the rubber components. Please advise.

I think you answered your own question, maybe it's worth getting the 7500KM one because it needs little attention.

Good luck with your choice, I wish I had to decide such a thing.

Have a PPI on both and let the official Ferrari dealer advise you afterwards.

I would prefer purchasing a car that has been driven and well maintained, rather than a garage queen. You might encounter some problem with the engine. The plastic hoses can dry up very fast and the car might spend some time in the chop before you can fully enjoy it.

I agree with the comments about garage queens but 7500km in 7 years is still a garage queen in my book!

Thats what I've done with my 360 in 4 months...

Then again it IS an F50!

For my what is important is the car has been driven every year and that the engine was started at least once a month. It is clear that a F50 that has 200Km
on the clock has been sitting in a garage or worth in a show room or a museum and in this last case you can be sure that the engine has not been truned on for a long time period

Nobody asked him what he plans to do with the car. That might be important here. :)

If you plan to actually use it regularly, then buy the 7500km car since it will most likely be less trouble, and is more used to actually being driven.

If, on the other hand, you rarely will be driving the F50 and just want to have a car that looks cool sitting in your garage, and maybe drive it once or twice a year, then the value would be higher with the 280km car.

So...how do you plan on using the F50??
