Its the one on BAT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1997-ferrari-f355-spider-12/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I am not getting a comfortable feeling from the winning bidder of the auction today. He stated he is out of the country and wants to consummate the transaction when he returns in late January 2021. Brand new member that joined in December 2020. He nor his agent have ever reached out to me or seen the car. Thoughts ?
What's the BaT policy on closing the sale? I would expect full payment within 48-72 hours, otherwise the next bidder should have rights of purchase. Sent from my SM-G960U using FerrariChat.com mobile app
The winning bidder has already paid 5% to BaT. If he does not complete the transaction, he has nothing to show for it. Seems like they have more to lose. Suggest you see what their concerns are - do they wish to see the car in person first? Would they have difficulty sending money from outside the country? Then seek a solution. In the grand scheme of things, 1 month isn’t a very long time. I’ve completed several transactions on BaT. He is probably more skeptical of you then you are of him!
Doesn’t sound good. I don’t know why u went to bad: u seem to have had plenty of interest on this forum Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ask for a $5-10k nonrefundable deposit in exchange for allowing until January 31 to complete the transaction. I think that would be reasonable for both of you. He can’t expect you to hold the car for a month at no cost.
30 days is completely unacceptable. I would kindly ask for payment in full within 72 hours. If not then I would reach out to BaT for resolution. I’m confident they would agree to relist and or give second bidder an opportunity. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Thank you for your input. Update: reported to BAT. All the red flags as looks like he is trying to screw another Seller besides me. 1) Out of the country. 2) He won’t be there at the sale, just someone there on his behalf. 3) And here is the kicker. Cashier’s Check only. He uses exact same MO when we compare notes. No Thanks. I am out.
Not much faith in BAT after this. I have had significant local interest in the car. Buyer has been given a Notice To Perform. Pending outcome, I may offer it back up for sale. Listing price will be $71,500.
dont take this the wrong way but you are the car's worst enemy. you have been all over the place wrt the price and you keep claiming there is interest which i dont think anyone believes anymore. why not just got the next bidder? if you had real interest at 71k locally why wld you have such a low reserve? its a shame because it looks like a clean car but you are playing games to get an extra 5k which isnt in the car now. my 2 cents.
No offense taken. It’s an insanely clean no stories car. It’s a free market that is constantly moving and not static. I can choose to price it up or down as I wish, right ? Or chose to keep it if I don’t get what I feel it’s worth, right ?
Yes it looks spectacularly clean but why wld anyone believe there is interest above 68k when you set your reserve below 65k?
I agree with TTF. This car is to clean to be on the market for this long with various prices. And now knowing that the reserve was below $65k. Keep it, enjoy it and in 10 years it will be worth double. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
LOL, well 65k plus fees is close to 70k. So I guess some people think it’s worth it. If it doesn’t sell that’s no issue with me. It would be hard to impossible to ever find another one. No stories, no cover up. Dealer serviced. Come on.
Agreed- seemed u had plenty of offers at asking but for some reasons u didn’t sell. Winter is slower season but great car Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I viewed the car today in person. Very good example of a well maintained 355 showing little wear. straight forward seller with all maintenance records. Would be hard to find a better example.
Did the BAT deal ever close? The winner posted late last night looking for you.. just an FYI. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Thanks everyone. Two 355’s over 18 years has been epic and priceless. The new owner got an incredible car ! Well that’s coming from a UTI Auto Trade School Grad and ASE Certified Master Tech. ( Yeah that would be me. Put my way through Cal State Hayward using my wrenching skills and went on to the Corporate Banking World). Anyway, thanks again for the interest and inquires. For those still looking, be patient as a good one will come around ( not that many good one’s left though). The new owner can chime in if they want to, and introduce themselves. Enjoy the 355’s and stay safe !
This is what I am looking for. I’m brand new to this app. Joe 7165484110 Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
