RAC911- I’m selling the car as I’ve owned it now for 5 yrs. One of my longest held toys. Not emotional to letting go. Might actually get a Taycan with this money to try something new. My toys have tended to be analog, manuals over the past 20 years.

And convertible top works. Sometimes it pauses with a single beep, but release switch and re-engage and it finishes job. Seats move back/forth as programmed plus windows lower as well. The glitch might be one of the switches or relays which the sunroof system checks during operation. In any case I serviced the mechanism by lubricating joints per post instructions and topped up fluid.

So...this car is being reduced, the grey Pista below is being reduced, lumber prices are falling, yield on 10 year t-notes are falling. Does anyone see a pattern here?

Floods in China (and Newark NJ), drought severe heat in the West Coast... End of the world?

I'll hold the car if it doesn't go at this price. I paid almost $20k this year for the major, new tires, new cats... So its good for another 5+ yrs.

Took a drive today. Mid-80s in NJ and sunny. See video for brief clips of acceleration and right after drive, went to a train station to record idling and demonstrate smoothness of engine at 210F. No issues with hot start; no hunting of idle; no smoke. This F355 is one trouble-free example.

Looks like a great car. Would you happen to know from the history if the valves and exhaust headers have been sorted?

PO claims valves were replaced but couldn’t find paperwork from his seller (2015). In any case, there’s no smoke or oil consumption which are symptomatic of the valve problem. Plus I read posts of 97 year onward not affected. For my peace of mind or new owner, Classic Coach - renowned Ferreri shop in NJ - performed engine out a few months ago and also checked everything thoroughly not finding any issue. As for headers, both replaced with OEMs around 10k mi ago.

Any "sticky" parts or has that been "cured"?

PO paid for sticky no more (circa 2016) and I did more myself following tips from this board. But there are still areas slightly tacky but nothing that stains fingers!

There’s 0% chance you’d get this in before September. Late September may even be a stretch. I submitted my car July 8th…still waiting on the first ad copy :/

I'm the previous owner of this 355 spider. Hands down an honest, trouble-free example that's been lovingly maintained by passionate Ferrari owners - it's a no-stories, honest 355 spider. I can attest to it's overall condition, maintenance, and care during my ownership. The performed flawlessly in the number of years I owned it and now under Joe's ownership. I too had a major completed in 2016 by Wide World Ferrari - so that's two majors performed within 5 years - and FYI Classic Coach is a highly respected Ferrari shop here in the Northeast so you know they went thru every last detail.

If you're in the market for an excellent example of a 355 spider, don't miss out. Joe hope you don't mind but here's a photo under my ownership.

njcycleguy - appreciate your chiming in to attest your ownership/experience with this 97 Spider. I'm doing my best to keep it to the level you sold to me in 2016... which is not an easy feat as you used top detailers in NJ!

    SOLD!!

To a fellow FChatter and therefore knowledgable and appreciative buyer. Per ^ messages, I purchased from FChatter as well in 2016. Two in a row!
