Hello All, Yes...I need some Advice/Help with my '99 355. The "lateral" sensor in my Actuator has failed, Shelling out 10K-ish for a New/Old one or converting over to a clutch pedal does not really appeal to me, not yet anyway... I have read that a German Company called 'Hilite International' has developed a Control Unit and Actuator for the 355 F1, this was done sometime in 2011. Does anyone have any information on this product or the Company itself? Also, any suggestions regarding the Actuator problem itself would be appreciated. Thanks, Kevincarl

I think that's for the pump, not the actuator.

I was wondering when this was going to happen.

The 360 pump swap is a good thing.

Actuator failure and solenoid failures worry more than anything at the moment.

Ricambi has them listed for $6850. Not great, but better.

I'll look around as best I can....but do keep us all posted on your progress.

Interesting that a dealer would be less expensive. Missed that post!

If I may ask, what are the symptoms of this failure....and what is a lateral sensor?

Eurospares lists a used one for $2,200 and a new one for $3,000. Yes USD and not GBP.

Has anyone confirmed that FOS has a rebuild option? Do you think they actually do that on site or send it out? If they send it out, I wonder what the vendor charges FOS?

It would seem the Eurospares new at $3000 is the best option at the moment.

But if you own an actuator and can find the vendor who does the work for FOS, it might not be all that bad.
