Hey guys I have been lurking around the forums for some time now, but have never posted. I am in the market for a 360 Modena. I am not afraid to get one with high mileage as it seems if it has higher mileage it is capable of being driven alot. The dealership is asking 115k for it, saying it has had its 30k done and basically just needs an oil change right now. What do you guys think about it?

$115k is way high for a 33k-mile '99 car (I'm one to talk!).

$100k is reasonable. $90k is what most people on here would say. $70k is what that same dealer would probably offer you if you wanted to trade it in.

FWIW, I had an offer of $103k on my Euro '00 360 w/ 45k miles on it, but that was high.

$100K is the way to roll.

Basically I am gonna low ball them at 90k and let them work me up then. If we agree on 100k should I pick it up or should I just pass it up and find something with a little less mileage? Thanks alot.

Should you wear black or blue? Eat a burger or a steak? Date Jessica Alba or Angelina Jolie?

As with the above questions, your question on the 360 is a highly personal decision, and comes down to your own tolerances. What are you planning to use the car for? How long are you going to keep it? What is your maintenance fund? How much do you value newer, lower mileage cars. The list goes on.

Buying a car you are comfortable with. But DO get a PPI done from a reputable source - that makes all the difference in the world.

Me, personally: Black. Burger. Jessica. - ;)

I know it is personal preference. This will be my first exotic car. I own plenty of high end cars like MB, BMW, Porsche. I have never purchased a ferrari before. I will mainly use the car on weekends and nice days. I will drive it about 12k a year for sure. I only intend to keep it a year or so also. If anyone would be kind enough to run a carfax for me I have the vin and will post it below. Thanks again for the help sorry if I am a pain.

No pain at all. Just comes down to personal factors that make it hard for us to judge what is "right" for you.

    Good luck with the search.

FWIW, mileage means nothing except that the car has survived that long! My Euro 360 is pushing 60k miles and is less expensive, sounds better, runs better, and is significantly faster than a comparable low-mileage US-spec 360.

...and I've run my Euro coupe and US Spider head-to-head...with the coupe leaving the spider in its dust.

Don't worry about the 33k miles -- as long as the car looks and runs well, go for it.

If this is your first F-car, though, do not suffer "sticker shock" when something goes wrong...

Ah yes...Emil makes a good point. Everything I said above is true, given a roughly $1 / mile cost of service....

That's just because you cannot count past 1,000 if it appears on an odometer. :)
